I'm going to start back today 5/10 on W2 so I will be on the same workouts. I got to the W5 workouts during Febuary- March and hit a wall & fell off the wagon & under the wagon. But since then I have missed the jogging; so I'm going to restart the C25K program. Thanks for starting the thread & I look forward to progressing with you all!! See ya on the road!!
Fell under the wagon

Hey friends,

Well, I haven't been on in a while. I seem to have run into a wall & fell not only off the wagon, but under it also. I hit the W5 workouts & was in so much pain all over my body that I tried stepping back a week & it still didn't help. It seems that when I get to the over 5 minute job segments, it hurts even in my bones the next morning. I wasn't happy with where I was & even skipped the 5K I had planned to walk/jog.

But, now I'm kind of missing the jogging so I can't figure out what to do next. Thinking about starting back at W2 and going from there. Would like to try to move outside track to jog this time. If the wind would ever calm down here in western Oklahoma.

If anybody has ANY advice or thouoghts on how to start back or what my problem might have been, please chime in & let me know. It would be more than welcome! Thanks for the help in advance.. Be Well...TJ

Hey everybody,

First thing, it's great to hear everybody doing so well & pushing on. Congrats to all!! Here's my problem. I re-attempted W5D2 last night and made it thru with alot of effort. And once again I woke up this morning & felt like a truck had run over me. Muscles were sore & stiff all over, and my frame even felt sore. The stiffness & soreness worked out thru the day but I still have some serious ache going on.

FYI, I'm jogging on a good treadmill, wearing good Asics shoes and have struggled with some of the 1st day workouts but bounced back really qiuck for day 2's. I've slowed my jog down to 4.5 mph & my walks to 3.5 mph & doing a 2% incline (same as always).

HAs anybody else had this problem? I'm begining to think I just might not be a runner. I enjoy it but man, this is killing me. I've even thought about sticking to the 5 minute increments & just adding more on the end of the run. The extra 3 minutes per segment seem to be what is causing my problems ( maybe??) not sure. I'm hardly sore or stiff after the W5D1 workouts.

Any suggestions or help would be really welcome!! Thanks...TJ

BUT after sleeping late & then getting tangled up in all the B-ball I fell off the wagon. So I decided I might as well slug-out on Sunday & after church got to go play golf. (Which I like alot more than running BTW & better at it too).

I'm hoping to get back in the groove on Tuesday. Probably will back up a day or two and hit it. Hoping for the wind to die down some so I can get the nerve to move outside & jog. We have had substained 25 + mph wind most of th day today & calling for 30-35 + the rest of the week. Blah,Blah,Blah..Arent ya glad you ask??

I was real glad to log on & see how well everybody is doing & drawing from the inspiration from all of you folks. Keep up the goodwork everybody!!! The 2nd 5 minute run came & I didnt even attempt to jog it. My lungs were screaming & I sounded like a wounded elephant with asthma. So, I just walked it on out. I chose to repeat a couple days of W3 and that did the trick. THe second time I started W4, I buzzed right thru it.

So, think about repeating a days or two if you need to. It gives your body a little more adjustment time. I've backed up a couple times & I'm chugging into W5D3 today. Curious to see how it goes because the extra 6 minutes of D2 about wrecked me. Keep on going and keeps us updated!!! Be Well....TJ

Wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be. My breathing was good except for about the last 2 minutes of the last 8 minute jog. But, my legs were killing me from the start. Might have been because I had done a bunch of going & blowing at work during the day. Not sure about that.

However, I felt great after I finished but this morning I felt like a truck had hit me. Very sore & stiff and knees were aching quite a bit. Don't know if that was because maybe I was tensed up while running or what, but it was not great. Stiffness & soreness has worked out as day went along with a little residue muscle ache. Didnt think 6 extra minutes of jogging would cause that kind of problems!! Anybody else ever had this??? Let's keep on chuggin!! Be Well...TJ

Glad you dropped in. I also chose to repeat W3. Seems like it was quite a hurdle from W2. I repeated it & then it seemed like I flew thru W4, I have completed W5D2 last night & it was a bear toward the end. So just pace yourself & dont over do. Better to repeat and let your body adjust than to push too far, too soon & end up injuried. ( Just my thought, not a experianced runner or doctor or anything!1). But, I believe if I had moved on up to W4 before I was ready, I probably wouldnt have enjoyed it as much as I have.
