The ISM saddle looks like a toilet seat. In fact the guy that invented it dreamed up the design while sitting on one. This saddle is great. I have one on my road bike and hybrid. When you first ride with it may feel a little unstable but it only takes a few rides and you are hooked. I would definitely investigate this saddle. The weather was great, the course was well-marked, and the staff was excellent. We will definitely put this on the calendar again next year. This was the quitest ride we were ever on. We stopped twice between rest stops next to farm fields and the absence of noise was wonderful. Also, very few cars although a truck passing other cars on Rt 298 almost hit me !!!!!

My wife and I rode the 100K event last year and decided to return. We were very concerned about the heat advisory and had decided to do around 30 miles even though the event was scheduled for 100K and 100 miles. Fortunately, the event organizer e-mailed us on Saturday evening that they were canceling the 100 miler and adding a 38-miler, which we rode. There were about 75 riders and everybody started out at 8 AM. With the heat, it would be much better if the event started as early as 6 AM. The 38-miler had two rest stops although the first one was not until the 21 mile mark and the second was at the 31 mile mark. The rests stops were well-stocked with the usual fare and the second one had a big fan blowing a water mister (great idea). There was plenty of SAG support. My wife started getting dizzy around the 10-mile mark and SAG picked her up. I made it to the second rest stop but was cramping badly so I had SAG take me in also. I left my Camelback in the SAG wagon vehicle and took off for home without it. The SAG driver notified me via my cell phone and a person from the event organization is driving near our house on Tuesday and has agreed to meet my wife and bring the Camelback. Several particpants remarked to us after the event that an earlier start time would have been better and my wife talked to one of the event organizers who seemed receptive to the idea for next years event.

We did the 32-miler (actually 34.6 miles according to my GPS). I did not have any problems with markings. There seemed to be a white arrow before each turn. I always use the elapsed distance indicated on my GPS in conjunction with the cue sheet. I agree that the rest stop was a little far given the conditions. Kudos to the organizers for allowing riders to start early. We were told the course was flat by one of the event staff before we started. However, there were some moderate hills along the way but nothing too bad. The "worst" for my wife and I was the long incline leaving the rest stop.

However, after perusing the weather reports and noticing how humid it was at 4:30 that morning at the hotel, we decided to ride the 27-miler. We actually started the ride at 7:00 AM. I will agree with some of the other comments about the green route. The arrows were confusing. However, I had a GPS and followed the written instructions and had no problems. When we got to Chestertown at around 8:15 AM (I think the green route navigated every possible hill between Betterton and Chestertown!!!!!) I decided that it was better for me to stop there and go to the hotel. My wife completed the ride, picked up the car, and returned to the hotel. It was absolutely too hot to be riding. We would have been toast if we had tried the 50-miler. Maybe the weather will be better next year.

I did the 50K because my doctor said I couldn't do the 100K. My wife and I did the 100K last year in the rain. Well-marked ride. The 'frogs" never let me down. I started early enough so the heat was not a problem. Unfortunately, my wife could not ride this year. We signed up for two different rides on the same day! She did the Viewtrail ride in Berlin, MD and I did the Leap Frog. We will be doing the Leap Frog in 2011. I highly recommend this ride.
