In your first year at college most coaches will understand that there is a huge change in your lifestyle and most likely a change in your training. They won't be expecting you to go out and dominate in your freshman year. Their goal is to get the most out of you by the time you finish college (and beyond).
This is also part of the reason why so many runners redshirt their first season.

Going into school I was running 16:40s for 5km.
At school I ran mid-27ish for 8km.
Not a difficult adjustment but in high school XC we ran 7km so that might have made a difference. The jump to 10km in university is pretty tough though.

I assume you're trying to get an idea of what you'll be capable of running next year. What are you running now and I (or someone else here) could give you a pretty decent indicator. But remember times aren't that important in your first year. Adjusting to the work is what matters.

Actually in elementary school I was a LJ/TJ/800 specialist.
I usually got demolished in the LJ but in the triple I'd usually do well, even beating most of the
Nothing like telling the marshall at the jumping pits that I had to leave to run my 800.

It would be about 3500 miles from San Diego, California to Bangor, Maine. Or you could do the Vancouver to Halifax run which is nearly 3800 miles. Now who wants in on that one?

Like when Science proved that Earth was the center of the universe. This science that proves the world is 1 billion, trillion years old is BS. It's a guess. Now I'm not going to say exactly how old the world is but I would guess about 10,000-15,000 years. From the creation of Adam & Eve that gives them a lot of time to create a population of 8 billion. Also I believe that people lived to be hundreds of years old at that time. Adam was said to have lived for 800 years. I think I could make a whole lot of babies in an 800 year span. And these Neandrethals who are said to be the connection between humans and monkeys could very possibly be the remains of a human from the days when people would live 500 years. Some of the physical abnormalities could come from the wear and tear of being a 653 year old father of 100 children.
I took all these BS athropology courses in school and I could never come across any "science" that proves the kind of sci-fi evolution they talk/write about ever happened. They are all guesses.
