Ga Riptide 18U Tryouts

The Ga Riptide 18U has decided to field 2 teams for the Spring of 2012.

Tryouts will be held at Adams Park in Kennesaw, Ga for both teams on:

Thursday 8/11 7:00-8:30 field 4

Tuesday 8/16 7:00-8:30 field 3

Sunday 8/21 2:00-4:00 field 4

Showcase Team:

This will be a compilation of 10 to 11 elite players that have the intent of playing at the collegiate level within the next 2 years.

The coaches/leaders of this team will concentrate on marketing each player to colleges through:

a) Constructing and updating profiles

b) Building a constant regimen of communication through email

c) Direct contact with college coaches and recruiters

d) Giving the players every opportunity to showcase their abilities through playing in Showcase/Exposure tournaments throughout the Region/Country

This Fall, the Ga Riptide is planning on playing in the following Showcases, but can change based on availability

October 28-30 - Chattanooga Fall Showcase

November 11-13 Champions Showcase (West Cobb)

November 18-20 – Southern Star Showcase (Savannah)

Tournament Team:

This team will be a compilation of 11-13 elite players that have the intent of participating in tournaments at the A/B level and may or may not have the goal of playing at the collegiate level.

The coaches/leaders of this team will concentrate on honing the skills and strategies of winning at an elite level through:

a) Organized practices

b) 2-3 tournaments a month during the summer

c) Agility/skills training

This Fall, the Ga Riptide Tournament team is planning on playing in 1-2 tournaments yet to be determined.

A player may decide to play on the Showcase team, but not on the Tournament team. If their other travel team permits them, they may choose to play Tournaments with them and choose to play Showcases with the Ga Riptide.

Also, a player may decide to play on the Tournament team, but not the Showcase team, it is solely up to the player.

18U Ga Riptide Makeup Tryouts - Cobb/Paulding/Cherokee/Bartow

The 18U Ga Riptide team will be having tryouts/workouts on Sunday October 3rd at the following location from 5:00 - 7:00:

Adams Park - (Softball Fields)

2753 Watts Drive

Kennesaw, Ga 30144

Please meet under the pavillion by the back parking lot next to the softball fields

We are located in North Cobb County and currently have a base of athletes from Paulding and Cobb. All positions are open, with emphasis on pitchers and catchers.

I am willing to work around other school athletics schedules such as basketball, lacrosse, etc

Our Fall season will start after GHSA games have completed for the season.

We plan on playing a couple of tournaments in the Fall plus a Showcase in November.

In the spring/summer we will play 9-10 tournaments at a competitive level.

While striving to play at the ASA A Nationals at the end of the year, we will be discussing end of season plans as a team.
