      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:cc2df09f-ecd9-436b-9699-37e287ac7113] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Sounds familiar!&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I am wiling to bet that when you are sitting and you go to raise the leg attached to your sore hip it really stabs right in the hip joint...like a firey knife, right?&amp;#160;&amp;#160; If so, your hip flexors (you have two in each leg) are probably irritated or inflamed.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I was about a year into my program (53 years old, 6'3" 180 lbs or so)&amp;#160; and I had wonderful new shoes, but gradually wore them out and went to buy a new pair and found out that Nike had discontinued them.....rather that writing Nike and asking them, I went to a local running store and asked them what the closest shoe to what I had that Nike still made....bad idea.&amp;#160; The new shoes caused immediate problems.&amp;#160; I wrote Nike and got their advice on which of their current models most closely matched my old shoes&amp;#160; and I went on line and actually was able to buy 2 more pair of my old shoes...it took almost 2 months of NO RUNNING to get my flexors to calm down and and I am gradually getting back into it.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I have researched the flexor problem extensively and other than some specific stretches, it seems rest is the best thing....pain willl definitely be your limiter.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;No matter how good the shoes, if they don't work for you, they are bad shoes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:cc2df09f-ecd9-436b-9699-37e287ac7113] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:2e272d5d-cbc8-4402-84d0-93a66f4957fc] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Beautiful day for a run today, only moderate win.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Set a new PR and chopped a minute and 3 seconds off my last run.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; 26:01 in today's Run For Gold 5K.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Essentially 8:39 miles.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; Running a 19:59 5K&amp;#160; will require 6:31:9 miles....I have some work to do.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I am fighting a very sore left hip flexor, my Chiropractor got me to the point where I could tolerate running roday.....but it hurts like a biatch&amp;#160; now.....daggers in the hip joint.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160; A few days of rest and stretching and heat/ice are in order.&amp;#160; Then back to "work," I have to admit - this is the most fun I have had in a long, long time.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; I am going to do some basic strength work too.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Any suggestions from you with lots of mileage and/or coaching?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:2e272d5d-cbc8-4402-84d0-93a66f4957fc] --&gt;</description>
