      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:2380a504-1af4-494a-befb-59071e849e01] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Well I ran in my second 5k, I was 17 seconds slower, but to be fair, I was home sick all of the week of 3/25 with a horrible case of the flu and I was really congested still, I probably should have walked most of it.&amp;#160; But I ran about half and I'm pleased. I got a really bad pain in my hip, kind of near my inner thigh between mile 1-2, so that slowed me down some, I found myself dragging my toe a couple of times. But my son went out and won 2nd place in his division, so now he's finished 1st and 2nd in his first two races. I tend to strike on the back edge of the ball of my foot and roll outside, and these are very comfy.&amp;#160; I've been down all week with the flu. So I'm stalled at W5D1. I'll get at it again. Also trying to drag people out with me has become hard, no one wants to run in May. Go figure? It's only 90 by 10 am. I stopped weighing myself because it was discouraging that every time I got on the scale, my weight was different by 3-5 pounds. Finally realized it's water weight after I run, so I'm laying off the weighing and just working the WW program. Just stretch really well afterwards, especially those negative stretches to get the back of the knee down to floor. And rest when necessary.&amp;#160; I can tell when I run too much and cause too much swelling, my knee won't bend right and the kneecap pops a lot. And I finished those 3 and 5 minute runs without getting a stitch in my side which is always a sign of success. But my husband had aggravated me before I went to run, so maybe I was running out frustration????&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That's great that nothing is broke and I really believe in the power of stretching. I completely ruptured my right ACL on 10/10/10 and stretching is the only thing that allows me to run.
