Still need to get a good pair of shoes. It was harder but I think it was because of the time of day I ran. Well more like a jog but I completed it. My husband actually did it with me of course he is in MUCH better condition than me and not sure he even breathed hard but he was a good support for me. It was so hot 102 when we ran, do not think I will try that again for awhile. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Looking for a good pair of shoes, I seem to be struggling with my feet, &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I start W2D1 tomorrow!!!! But am very nervous about it. I will try it and see how I do I may do Week 1 again. Even though I am completing all my run times with out additional walking I still not where I think I need to be at in it. Shin splints are hard to deal with, I used to ice mine, and if you get a long sock (tube sock) and put it half way on, then pull the your toes toward you it helps stretch them. Now this is not medical advice but it helped relief some of my pain. Some times it makes a difference weather you run on grass vs pavement. I was a little sore until I got into it a bit. What really helped me I think was I went to &lt;a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://www.c24k.com"&gt;www.c24k.com&lt;/a&gt; and downloaded the free Podrunner intervals that gives just music and beeps when you need to switch from walk to jog/run. Not watching a clock the made the time go by much faster. I could not believe I was done when it ended. Walked off the other time to get home. So in all I did 30 minutes. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4babes; I am looking to do my first 5k in the fall too, only one I have found is around Oct but still looking.I am very nervous, I know it is a mental thing alot with the physical one I just do not want to pysc myself out.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I thought I would tell everyone that I am 44 yrs and about 40 lbs heavier than I was when I ran back in High school. Boy does the weight make a big difference in my breathing. I seem to struggle.&amp;nbsp; I love soccer and since my knee surgery have not be able to keep up. I am hoping this will improve my stamina for the games. I have 2 sons my baby is 17 and my oldest will be 21. We are a big soccer family. We all play with my husband on an coed team indoors. I miss them being little but love the time we are having now.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;maggieq: GREAT job! Wondering if anyone else recently started or starting soon. Felt like I was running on noodles at the end. Played soccer for about 8 years but blew my knew out about 1 1/2 years ago and just starting back. I really want to start running.
