Either one arm or both arms start to hurt. most up in the top of the arm. Do I need to lift more weights to get my arms stronger to be able to deal with extend period of time I do that to my arms. Or just do more long bikes rides to get my arms used to it. and the only thing that helps it when I ride is not tensing up the arm at all and just letting it hang while i coast.

knee problems

But now I have another problem. I did this for like a couple of weeks. I did a 19miles, then a 38 miles, then a 45 mile bike rides. I did these bike rides 3 sundays in a row. When I was on the 45 mile one towards the end of the ride my left knee would hurt. But it is like the left part of the knee would hurt and it would hurt when it bent. I mean I could walk and it be fine. But it hurt mostly when I did the bending motion of the bike. I finished the bike but that muscle on the side of my knee would hurt. Now it still sorta hurts. But I really aggrivated it when I did a 70 mile bike ride. It hurts a little still but not as bad. Has this happen to anyone else?

I started out with a mountain bike and I now have a Felt road bike. I have ridden to work which is 3.5 miles away every day. And when I need to go some where else i bike there. And I do an occasional long distance bike.

But through all of this I feel like my speed hasn't increased much. What can I do as far as weight training.

and I have one more question, when I do long riding my lower back starts hurting really bad. I tried pulling up the seat and that doesn't work. I got somthing to make my handle bars higher. I think they need to be higher. But what else can i do to make my back no hurt on long rides.
