Went oout nice and slow so I could make sure I could push the distance a little. Finished in 49:30 Stilll slow but my second 5K plus distance this week. So happy about that. Totally barefoot too, which felt awesome

Night all.

That is awesome!

So, I'm still here--lurking and keeping up with reading the boards, but my running program is sort of curtailed for the moment.

I think the slip on the ice back in March may have come back to haunt me. I've been having left knee issues since that episode, but they would resolve, then return as I upped my training level.

Finally, on an 8-mile training interval walk/run about two weeks ago, my knee decided it had had enough

I went to a physical therapist, who did some ASTYM and gave me some exercises to do, but after a week I still hadn't improved much. X-rays showed no problems, but the point of pain seems to be where the medial meniscus is located. Blech. Only an MRI will tell me more.

Road walking/running brings the most pain, but torsion of the foot on trails aint so good for my knee, either. So, I've been doing my weekend hikes--carefully--and other exercises which won't bother my knee. At least my usual activity level is not impacted too much--I can get around well enough, and I'm grateful for that!

I'm really disappointed because my half-marathon is next weekend, and I'm pretty sure it's out of the question, now.
