I couldn't believe it when I successfully completed all the running intervals (especially since week 3 had been a struggle!). I was so proud of myself! Since then, I've attempted the week 4 run four times, but for whatever reason, I just can't seem to push through those 5 minute intervals. It's killing me!       <title>Is my knee pain caused by my shoes?</title>

But for my past few runs, my knees have really been hurting. The pain often ends up radiating down my calves when I try to push through the pain, causing my calves to feel extremely tight. Today I ended up running on the grass instead of on the road because of the pain level. I am prone to injury (In January, when I first started C25K, I essentially dislocated my knee), so I am very concerned about how far I should push it. I've been running in Merrell Lithe Glove minimalist shoes, because I was told that a minimalist shoe would help strengthen my ankles (4 years ago I dislocated my left ankle, and simultaneously broke my right foot, but that's another story). As a heavy girl (218 pounds and 6 feet tall, but rapidly losing weight since I've been running), so I'm wondering if the impact on my knees from running in these little shoes is just too much for my knees? They were great for the first month-- have they worn out already? Any recommendations?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:4234c569-d4df-4662-9ad5-09729ca05dd9] --&gt;</description>
