      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:b41fb6c0-74de-4425-a22c-7b2f7425104c] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; my 4yo wanted to run the pittsburgh marathon kids mile, so I let her, she did awesome running the whole distance and ended up with about a 10:30 pace, we did not "train" she runs when she plays and stops when she's tired.&amp;#160; Sometimes we go for a run together at her request, usually she's good for .25-.5mi and then she wants to stop, so we stop.&amp;#160; She continually expresses interest in running races and as i will not discourage her fitness is fun mentality, but then I live in an area where everyone knows my kids and the running and other athletic activities they are involved in are at their request.&amp;#160; I am frequently having to tell my 11yo to slow down and take days off from her busy life, I dont think i am seen as "that" mom, but then again maybe complete strangers do see me that way, but i dont care because those that know me know I am not, so I say see what he is able to do, but dont "train" &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:b41fb6c0-74de-4425-a22c-7b2f7425104c] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:a8449596-81ac-44c5-b2a4-889c2140f902] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; I have been following my training plan without fail and my family has been very supportive, and thank you to everyone on here for reminding me that its not selfish to stick to my schedule.&amp;#160; Yesterday was to be a cross day but had a lot of work to do, and today a rest day, so tomorrow I am going to do my scheduled 5mi run then get to the gym for lap swims.&amp;#160; Need to revamp the schedule just a tad, as i made sundays a cross day and that is fine for summer/ fall training when we head out for day long bike rides, but for the winter we have basketball and futsol along with church, thinking sundays will be my rest day and mondays needs to be cross, other than that I think things are pretty set.&amp;#160; The weather has been very mild so far so runs have been nice, but by thursday we are looking at snow and sadly might have to move my runs inside.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;already signed up for a 5k in march and the Great Race 10k in the fall to keep things going through out the year, I will def be adding more, but wanted to make sure those that races got on my agenda&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:a8449596-81ac-44c5-b2a4-889c2140f902] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:e272153e-b086-48bc-ad92-96a9fbd83e94] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;So about 2 1/2 weeks ago got excited that I had my marathon training plan hammered out and was set to begin.....wierd pain in my knee (funny enough not while running) followed by gastritis has brought me into the new year at week 1....pittsburgh marathon is 17 1/2 weeks away, and I have put my plan into action, and made sure my family is aware, therefore giving notification that I have an obligation we will be working around as opposed to my norm of working runs around them, does that sound selfish?&amp;#160; i dont mean it that way, i just mean that there is a schedule needing to be taken seriously, just as I take their events seriously and do what I can to help prepare.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:e272153e-b086-48bc-ad92-96a9fbd83e94] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:e8f080ba-408b-4549-8022-3b6ece77e8b7] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; So no runs over the weekend due to all the holiday prep stuff...monday was a 4 miler-no garmin no ipod nothing just me and my shoes...nice.&amp;#160; Tuesday I was so psyched for my 5mi run with SCRR...I was going to be a group leader, but the rain was bad and there were concerns about the trail being washed out or flooding issues so the run was cancelled.&amp;#160; So I took it back to the treadmill &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/sad.gif" width="16px"/&gt;, but got my 5mi in &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/grin.gif" width="16px"/&gt; and felt great, esp since hubby decided to join me.&amp;#160; No runs wed, and had no plans for a race today as I was supposed to work the night shift at the hospital, but I was cancelled &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/happy.gif" width="16px"/&gt;, so I was upt and out the door for the Greensburg 5k Turkey Trot.&amp;#160; I ran it 2 years ago and one particular hill kicked my @$$ &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/angry.gif" width="16px"/&gt;, but this year I kicked that hills @$$ &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/devil.gif" width="16px"/&gt;.&amp;#160; No 5k PR (28:35) but it may as well ahve been, the way I was able to maintain pace in those hills...there was even a point when I looked down at my garmin and saw I was pacing at 6:04!!!!&lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/shocked.gif" width="16px"/&gt;&amp;#160; Obviously that didnt last that long, but it fel great!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ate great food today, but not in excess, back to work for me in the morning, and DH will be gone for a week and I will have my girls and 4 of their friends all weekend...no runs this weekend, back to it next week&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Happy Thanksgiving&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:e8f080ba-408b-4549-8022-3b6ece77e8b7] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:ef8cdc38-bfd1-4306-b58f-a911d81eb8d7] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ran 5.5mi yesterday....on the dreadmill, I had the day off but a TON of stuff to get done and knew if I headed out on the trail I wouldnt come back in time to do my other stuff, so I ran errands and the gym was on my way then had to get DD2 to dance and finish errands before dinner and hockey date with the hubby...but at least I got my run in.&amp;#160; Am I the only one who would rather run in the cold than the rain? its been raining for&amp;#160; a few days and I cant stand it...but then again I'm not ready to pull out the running tights, maybe if I did I wouldnt mind as much, jsut not ready to give up my shorts yet...well one thing is for sure rain or not I cant stand the TM for very long...5mi outside no big deal, but ot took all I had not to quit after 2 on that boring thing!!!!!&amp;#160; oh well, keep running!!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:ef8cdc38-bfd1-4306-b58f-a911d81eb8d7] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:1b034fd2-6353-4743-b170-2e2dd738a893] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Had the day off today so after I got the kids out the door I hit the road for a "quick" 3mi (9:20 average) run before meeting up with friends for lunch and then took my littlest to dance.&amp;#160; I wanted to get in a swim but when I looked at the pool schedule there were no lap swims during my free time today...maybe tomorrow.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The sunshine today felt great there was a slight breeze so leaves were swirling and it was such a nice sight.&amp;#160; Met another runner and got to talking a bit which was nice....and there was the HILL I have intentionally avoided since last fall during marathon training, I drive it daily but had forgotten what it feels like to run it..headed up after a nice flat 1mi start...my thighs burned all the way up..loved it..but for the rest of my run my legs felt so heavy and I felt like I was running at a very slow pace, only to look at my garmin and see it was pacing me at 7:30-8mm...why when I was running my fastest did it feel like I was barely moving?&amp;#160; Ever happen to anyone else?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:1b034fd2-6353-4743-b170-2e2dd738a893] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:f83b4762-e163-401a-9619-b12a7ad89c7c] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Met up last night with the Steel City Road Runners for a 5miler along the the river trail on the north side of Pittsburgh, have never been on that portion of the trail so the change in scenery was nice.&amp;#160; Ran at night past the Heinz plant, Delmonte Fruit Company, PNC Park, Heinz Field, Carnegie Science Center, and the David Lawrence Convention Center was all lit up on the opposite side of the river, kept right around a 9:15 pace.&amp;#160; I havent really enjoyed running at night for safety reasons but since I&amp;#160; was with a group it was really nice.&amp;#160; The organizers handed out red flashing lights to everyone and there were a few of us with head lights...very dissapointed with mine.&amp;#160; I got it about a year ago but havent really done much night running, but it seemed like it was going to be bright enough, until we got out there and it only seemed to make a difference along the portions of the route where there was absolutely NO light.&amp;#160; So I went on Facebook last night and posted that the run was nice, but that if Santa is checking up on me I want him to know that I want Knuckle Lights...hoping my loving hubby will take the hint!!! &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/wink.gif" width="16px"/&gt;&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:f83b4762-e163-401a-9619-b12a7ad89c7c] --&gt;</description>
