200+ Pound Club!

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I'm just at a point of frustration. Despite keeping my calories at 1600 or lower, I haven't lost for 3 weeks. I'm struggling in the C25k, though still moving forward. It's getting to the point in the summer down here in Louisiana where I want to begin hibernating in the air conditioning, too. I never stopped to think about the heat until someone asked me how I managed in the heat last week. Now it's all I think about when I run, besides "Is this interval over yet?"

I'm going to keep going, because I don't give up, especially when so many people are looking to me to be strong and prove that it is possible. I AM going to prove to the doubters that I can do it, come hell or high water - and we get both of those things in New Orleans!

Sigh. I just completed W3D1 yesterday, and went for a walk today, just to keep moving. W3D1 was harsh...the only saving factor was that it felt shorter because there were fewer intervals.

I don't know what it was, but the walk wiped me out. I think it's part mood and part heat, but also seeing every single other runner easily running for so long, all svelt and strong, muscles defined made me almost laugh at myself for even trying to run a 5k. Hell, I can't even run a mile right now, lugging 100 extra pounds around.

I've also stalled on my diet, which isn't helping my mood. But seriously...am I crazy? I don't really care what other people think about me, but I just don't see myself as a runner...

@JuicyFruit76 - I am on my second week of W1, and I run at a park where I usually encounter upwards of 100+ people each day. Nearly every single runner who has passed me, ran in the opposite direction as me, seen me running (aka Old Man Shufflin') has given me a HUGE SMILE! I did not expect it at all, but the amount of positivity I get from others is great. I think you'll have the same experience. Just run on a commonly used running path in your area, and I think you'll get the same response.

Hello! I'm a 270 lb, 5'6'' female looking to start C25K. I find myself to be fairly healthy despite my weight...with the exception of being able to run.

So I'm just going to dive in with C25K! I'm mildly crazy, starting in the dead of summer in southern Louisiana, but I'm going to do it.

I'm on a keto diet right now as well, so hopefully this will really help weightloss efforts. I hope to be below 200 within a year...lofty goal, perhaps, but I've done it before. I've lost 16 lbs in 2 weeks, so I may just do it!

I've made a lot of lifestyle changes in the past few months...all leading up to something like this, I think. Quit heavily drinking about 3 months ago. Quit smoking 50 days ago. Gave up being a vegetarian about 2 months ago, after I realized I was gaining and gaining and sick all the time.

I bought a pair of nice running shoes 3 years ago, that have just sat in my closet until about a month ago, when I finally joined a gym. But getting to the gym has been a hassle, and takes a bit too long to do in the mornings, when I have time. I'd rather stay in my neighborhood and do something there.

I plan on running on soft ground, to minimize any impact issues. I live in New Orleans, so streets have a neutral ground that is grassy, leaving a perfect running trail, especially along the street car lines! Also, it's pretty.

So starting on Tuesday morning, bright and early, I'm going to lace up my sneakers, leash up my dog, and hit the neutral ground. Wish me luck.
