Is this other peoples experience? Do I need to cut mileage and work on some speed ?

It is where I'm headed, I've been doing 15 to 20 every Saturday, doing a little holiday recovery work and then back to higher mileage. I have a lot of the gear but I've been "hiking" rather than trail running. I need to acquire a smaller pack and start going out for back to backs like you suggested.

I think Boulder sounds more attractive because it's in my back yard, the temps for Moab would concern me. Although I took a peek at the Desert R.A.T.S. also, 6 day stage race. Sounds very compelling! Still looking for logical explanations to spouse and family...............
