Ankle pain and running…?

Hey how goes it? After a few runs lately my right ankle would become sore. Usually would wear an extra sock on my right foot, but with the summer there is no need. Completed my first 20 mile run, and developed some pain in my right ankle. The pain subsided, and was able to run still. While looking for what I did to my ankle found out about the double sock. Forgot about doing that, and ran with two socks no pain during the run. Only thing is after the run the ankle feel is still sore. Ran another 20 mile run last week. No pain at all during the run, but after flared up again. The next day though the pain was gone. Would you think it be alright to keep running that long distance with the pain still flaring up? Also anyone experience something similar to this? Thanks for the feedback.

Run felt great except in the start at miles 3 and 4 my right ankle on the inside had a slight pain that dissipated by mile 5. Though that night had an off and on pain in the same spot on the bone on the ankle. Looking into what it could be ankle sprain is mention. Anyone experience something similar to this or have a thought on what it is? One thing going through my mind that might be to overcautious is light. Some runners go out two to three hours before sunrise. Probably for me won’t head out to maybe an hour or thirty minutes before sunrise. The question is though do you carry flashlights or vest to illuminate yourself on the road while the sun is setting itself up to rise?

With longest runs completed would be 15 to 16 miles usually. Thrown into the mix is usually some cross training and swimming. Agree we all react different. One thing worry about is burning out heard cutting back miles every so week is good. Trying to do three weeks and drop the miles down by two or four. At the end of the year goal is to run the distance of a 50k. That is about fourteen weeks away in conjunction with a local marathon. Goal is mostly to complete it and finish it before 4 hours and thirty minutes. Right now working to allow myself to make it to 42 miles this week and completed an 18 mile run on Monday. Schedule for the next couple of weeks looks loosely like this:
<p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: Been getting into biking for the past couple weeks. Have a Fuji Bike not exactly sure which series though. Last week the bike began making clicking sounds while riding on level ground. Made sure was on the right gear by going through the different gears and still the same noise. Took some lube to lube the chains before heading out today. Same noise occurred except this time every gear went through stayed in first. Not sure what is going on probably will have to bring it around somewhere to have it looked at? Wondering though has anyone experienced something similar, and maybe some type of fix I can do by myself? Thanks for any input.

The right leg though no pain or inflammation just tweaks up usually if sitting crossed legged. Feels fine during and after the run but before heading out for a run it just feels like a slight bit of pressure. Should just not run till the pain dissipates or just be careful while I run? Thanks.

Seeking an honest opinion… (RR)

Pretty long so broke down in to short and long versions. Thanks for taking the time to go over this for me.

Short Story: Five years of college, finally it is over hopefully. Want to do something awesome to celebrate so training for a fifty mile run. For motivation want to raise some cash for the local YMCA is the goal.

Long Story: Hey how goes it; wanted to do something involved with running to just celebrate finishing school. College has been a huge challenge from education to my own development of self. Looked around my area for marathons and that were close. A few popped up but were just out of the state. There was an ultra race not to far from where I live. So volunteered at the event for this year and had a blast. So my plan is to hopefully run this race next year. There are three different events a: 50k; 50 mile; 100k. Plan is to do the fifty mile race. Trying to get myself up to forty miles a week by the fall to see where I stand.

So the plan is the YMCA just getting back into going to the gym lately. The YMCA is a great addition to our city I feel. Helps the children, families, and adults try and live a healthy lifestyle. Not just physically but gives direction to those who need it. Mostly run on donations would like to help raise money so they can continue their work in the community. Raising this money would be a huge step out of my normal comfort zone though. Very shy and laid back. Feel though the challenge would be very beneficial.

Not sure how much involvement I can take in this. Focus is on finishing school and training for the race. Though would be able to volunteer an hour or two from the week to help out down at the YMCA. Can ask the clubs and sororities at the college I attend to raise some donations as a possibility. Final action can take is can ask my company to help raise funds. They have a charity that works with the United Way. The United Way is a sponsor of the YMCA as well. So that might work out.

Now with raising money a question comes to my mind is collecting the funds. The economy is not so great and might not be able to raise enough cash. Or asking people for cash seems kind of wrong when it is such a tough time. Have family and friends who are struggling through this tough time. Everybody is making the best and helping out.

If I go through with this will be something amazing if it works. Goal isn't to try and do something good. I love to run and so why not use it to do something to better the community. That is the message want to give off we have our own individual talents, skills, abilities, and so forth that help create a better community. Not even as to be physical like running can be mathematics and so on.

Pros: great for the community; take on a challenge; role-model; being healthy; a few more have to think of

Cons: will be a challenge; money; going out of my comfort zone; what if nothing happens; could be embarrassing to myself, and family; grammar; a few more have to think of Fundraising

Goals:YMCA: $500 total from members and $500 total from YMCA members families = $1,000

College: $ 1,000

Work: $1,000

Grand Total: $3,000

Cause always injure myself somehow. It is frustrating. Though if it is something your goal is to complete that race you have to stay focus. Keep doing what your doing being active and resting. Be out there in no time. Best of luck.
