That's pretty sweet. Interesting how it works. It transfers the waves into power like a "dolphin kick". Incredible!! Also, seems much easier then using your own body fat to power it.

BIg deal. Here is a photo of a super eco friendly boat that can go almost anywhere - very shallow draft, costs under $500, and that almost anyone can use. Plus I'd imagine pirates would ignore it.!Rowboat.jpg!

1.21 Gigawatts! Y'all remember Doc from "Back to the Future". Great Scot! By the way, that is 1,210,000 Watts, a lot of electricity. Maybe if you had the whole crew of an aircraft carrier doing turbo spin class, or someway to convert the static electricity into exponentially more energy, such as electrolysis and burning of the subsequent hydrogen fuel. You know, a combination solar powered and cold fusion submarine. HAHA.

Dear Sara. Let's catch up in 2008. More important than the raw idea of the "Fitness Energy Generator" is the formation of like minded individuals who share the same passion and can work together towards the goal of realizing their dreams. The Eco-Friendly Boat is called "Earthrace" and it looks like something from the distant future. The boat cost about 1.5 billion British Pounds, requiring the captain to mortgage his house and seek several significant donors. On top of that, he wasn't the only person to undergo liposuction. The inner cabin walls are covered with signatures and words of encouragement. Earthrace is scheduled to travel around the world, and how many of us as we sit in front of our computers desire the same adventure. I for one. God forbid the boat should sink to the bottom of the ocean after an encounter with pirates (they really exist), but should such fate befall them, already they have begun to inspire future brilliant minds. That's awesome. I can't believe he ran his boat on body fat, let alone his own. Pretty cool. Also sounds like you have an interesting idea up your sleeve. It just might work and then maybe I'll be posting about an article I read about this guy who created storage energy from a fitness station. Can I claim I knew you when...??

Saw on the news this story about Pete Bethune's boat. Biodeisel

that will be raced running off the owner's body fat, which has been removed by

liposuction. Hope that he didn't

come up with this idea just to be able to gorge himself before going on

a voyage. It is a cool idea, but how about this.

A while

ago I thought to myself; what if I could build an electro-static

generator attached to a fitness station, so that every rowing stroke,

every mile on the cabin stationary bicycle, and every repetition with

the cable cross could be converted into storage energy? Some Jules Verns science fiction, but then again, tell a sailor 50 years ago that one day a boat will be driven by adipose tissue and it sounds impossible too.
