Below 64 degrees water temp, its just chilling and uncomfortable. I havent yet decided to wear it during a race or not. I train in Los Angeles, CA. Santa Monica, Venice, and nearby beaches. You or anyone else is welcomed to join me for open water swims. just email me. Stick with it! Time keeps ticking, ready or not, race day will come.

But you know what? It doesn't matter. As long as you can squeeze in a few open water swim sessions prior to your event, you'll be fine. It's amazing how quickly it all comes back as long as you practice maintaining arm turnover and sighting in the pool.

Hope that Helps.

Ben Greenfield

If you are brave though and are close to a lake then go for it. I am done for the year in open water swims and will probably get out in them again in about april.
