I don't know. I used to be a hugh fan of New Balance both walking and running sneaks. A store clerk talked me into trying on the Nimbus IX even though I almost had a coronary with the price. I have to say, I love them! I've been training for a half marathon and will be running the race in them. They have been well worth every penny. I paid about $120 US for them since I didn't buy them from a major shoe store. Be careful though, my first pair of cheaper Asics which were gel frantics caused some severe shin splints and became my all around shoe for doing whatever. If it hadn't been for the clerk who owned a pair of the Nimbus, I don't think I would have ever tried another pair of Asics.

i'll vouch. i had put 400 miles on two seperate pairs of mizuno waver riders. I refused to consider anything else, but i gotta say that even though the Cumulus feels like a softer ride, it is still pretty responsive.

You might try the Cumulus. It is the same shoe with a little less cushioning. Same fit, but I actually find that it is a lot more responsive and, as a mid-foot runner, I don't need all the cushioning of the Nimbus. Cumulus is about $30 cheaper.

i just got a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus's a couple months ago at decathalon. they were about $100. but there not as good as the original nimbus's which were my favorite sneakers. also they have them at marathon sports

I like the Brooks Radius and Asics Gel Cumulus for neutral shoes. The Brooks are wide in forefoot which I like. Cumulus is a little lighter and fit like a glove. Should be able to get them around $70 from Road Runner Sports or Kellys Running Warehouse

I'll agree with the other poster that the Adidas Supernova Cushions might be a good alternative. I see you also posted a question about the Asics Landreths, and while the Nimbus is a little more shoe, they're comparable in that they're also a good neutral shoe. You could also think about the Saucony Trigon Ride. I currently rotate between the Supernova Cushion, Landreth, and Trigon Ride, and like all 3 pretty well. Of those 3, I would say the Supernova is probably closest to the Nimbus. You might also think about the Brooks Radius, although they probably won't fit quite like the Asics as they tend to be a little wider as a general rule.

I'm pretty happy with the Asics Gel Wizards which I got online for about $50 US. Hopefully they'll last as long as the Nimbus which are over 850 miles at this point.

I went from the Nimbus VI to an adidas Supernova, love this shoe.

I need your help! I am running in a sad looking pair of Asics Gel Nimbus's right now. I am building up my mileage, and want a shoe similar to this one that doesn't cost as much. Do you have any suggestions? Here in Canada these shoes are two hundred dollars.
