First of all - apologies if this is the wrong location for this question.

Out of all the parameters given by BIA scales, which one is most related to what the scale actually measure?

-Scales measure the resistance from an electrical current passed through the body.

-The current passes more quickly through fat-free tissue as opposed to fat or bone tissue. Reason being that muscle tissue contains more water than fat tissue.

So what the scales actually measure, is body density. This is passed through an algorithm created from research data (woo woo), and voilah - your body fat %

I have been using Tanita scales for almost a year now, and I have some ideas but would like to hear from the community first.

Thanks in advance.

corrected typos..
