I haven't read through all the responses, but am curious what all is said in FOUR pages of discussion about running skirts - but had to add my 2 cents. I thought they looked like a fashion overkill statement myself when I first saw them. The look started to grow on me and I began thinking "well, they are kinda cute" - I know a few ladies that run in them and love them for the comfort factor primarily. So, I gave it a whirl and bought a Triks skirt recently. I must say it is by far the most comfortable thing I've run in. hands down! The waist band is comfortable and stays put, no bunching or riding up of the shorts. I love my running skirt!

eta: slowasmolassesinwinter: That's the one I bought, the marathon girl. I didn't experience some of the problems with the built in shorts that you did, but everyone is built different. I am about a size 8, so the medium is what I got as well. The only complaint I had was the bike shorts do ride up slightly when I first start running, but once my skin temp warms up or gets a bit sweaty, then I just tug them back down and they stay put. Overall, I really like my marathon girl and am glad I bought it. As money permits, I might get the "runningskirts" brand so I have two different ones to compare.

eta again: I just double checked and mine is the "gymgirl" I believe. It has the built-in compression shorts - not the built-in spanky's.

----

Tamster[/URL" target="_blank">

[http://This message has been edited by TammyM (edited Apr-10-2007).|http://This message has been edited by TammyM (edited Apr-10-2007).]

[http://This message has been edited by TammyM (edited Apr-10-2007).|http://This message has been edited by TammyM (edited Apr-10-2007).]

I find that running shorts tend to ride up between my legs due to my fit - yet full - thighs. Does this happen to anyone else? Should I buy a larger size to provide more "wiggle room" or will this just make it worse due to too much fabric.

Thanks!

[http://This message has been edited by flyNhigh (edited Apr-10-2005).|http://This message has been edited by flyNhigh (edited Apr-10-2005).]

Last week, I swallowed a bug & spit it out! Can't do any of the above in a skirt.

I'm with you on this one. I'm typically very clothes/makeup/hair conscious, but when I run outside/at the gym I could, seriously, care less. I'm also amazed by the whole thong-while-exercising phenomenon. That seems SO uncomfortable to me. I'm can't believe guys may notice me when I run at all - I look terrible!

[http://This message has been edited by Stone Soup (edited Apr-09-2005).|http://This message has been edited by Stone Soup (edited Apr-09-2005).]

I like them, they look much better on me (5'2, 120lbs) than the running shorts which are usually too long. No, they don't hold gels, chapstick or anything else, but on runs of less than 10 - who cares - I'm cool and comfortable.
