I am going to do my first 1/2 the end of October. 52 yrs old female - did two sprint tri' this summer - tortoise speed - time right around 1:28 for both - chronic grater trochanter hip issue. No stranger to 1-2 hr cardio sessions but not alot of running b/c of the hip. Lots of cycling, eliptical, swimming. Am doing the 1/2 for the pure fun of it - have no illusions about speed or running the entire way - just want to do a fair amount of running and finish before they close the course on me :) When I do run - can range anywhere from a couple of miles and then on to the next activity to get the long cardio or up to 4-5 miles when by itself. Any advice out there for training? Just keep the cardio base - add in a long run once a week and maybe a shorter run once a week and see how it goes? Thanks for any advice.

Karen
