Willa ~ First of all, this has nothing to do with the fact that you do not have children. I have a problem with the so-called advise that typically includes some sort of mean insult. If I recall correctly, the last time you were called out for your rude comments, you blamed it on your need for "no complaining" with your upcoming marathon. What's the excuse now?

It would be nice if you could admit that you made some rude comments and apologize so that we could move on. Perhaps people would be a little more forgiving and understanding of you if you could admit that maybe you were out of line instead of pretending that you have no idea why people are upset with you.

Willa - I think what I find second-most annoying is that you make these comments and then you won't stand behind them. You try to make it sound like you meant something else. I just can't even read them anymore.

My appt is in 1 hour.

I bought a new book. "The extra mile", by Pam Reed. She is a damn tough ultrarunner, who won Badwater several times. Actually she was the only woman to place first overall so far (well, watch out for TY in a few years mauhauahauhauhau) .
She balances being a mom of 3, stepmother of 2, an ultrarunner and a race director.
I only read the 2 first chapters so far, but I like her style. Very light and involving reading.

I had lunch out with DH and my stomach feels like I swallowed a brick with tarp sauce. I think it's because I am anxious.

Last night it was almost, dare I say it, cool here, only about 70 degrees with light rain. I headed out with DD10s on their bikes to the HS track. 1.4 miles there and back for warm up/cooldown. I did 12 laps which I used as a MAF test. Ran near max for the 12 and averaged 10:55 for each 4 laps. The girls were great. I had checked the radar before we left and it looked like the rain was pretty much gone, but of course it started sprinkling right as we left the house and rained the whole time. They hid under the bleachers, read their books and played house. About 2 laps into my run they are both out on the track, Molly with blood streaming down an old wound below her knee. I assessed the situation with my vast medical experience and determined she would live. It was raining and I wasn't going to sacrifice a nice head sweat for her leg, so I just wiped off the blood with a wet hand, they laughed about it, and I sent them back to their bleacher hideout. I find it remarkable that they seem to enjoy themselves while most kids would be bored stiff, especially in the rain. But they had a good time and I got my 5.8 miles in. Of course they drank 3/4 of my gatorade but its all good. They're the best kids a dad could ask for.

I did my 1.75mile - 25minute run this morning. I can seriously walk faster! But, I am going to continue until the plan says otherwise. I get to run 2 days in a row now - so tomorrow I get 30 minutes - YAY!!

Hi Paul. No run for me today. Did Chest weights at midnight and just finished doing heavy bag boxing. The other day was the run from hell. I did 6 miles in scorching heat. Wasn't worried about my pace because of the heat, but did it in 1hr and 2 min. Couldn't run in the morning because of thunderstorms. So I decided to do it at 6pm when my daughter was at gymnastics. Good thing I bought that Camel back. Good day all.
