Now we invite you to come on down under and sample Australia's toughest and most scenic Alpine ultra marathon the Alpine Challenge -incorporating, the 100 mile Alpine Skyrun, 100km Alpine Challenge and 60km Alpine Experience. Over 7,000m of ascent and descent - all within a 48 hour cut off . Located 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne, in the Australian Alps, this classic mountain run includes 6 climbs, each over 1,000m plus 3 river crossings - one using a rope, and one a chain for support. Apart from the risk of getting lost on narrow bushwalking trails the main objective dangers to watch out for are drop bears, and hooped snakes.
