I read that years ago in a book by Alan Lakein, the time management expert.

Ray, that was a good quick 4.8, especially with sore feet.

Rich, I hope you are buying a night boot for your sore foot, and doing whatever you can to stay fit in the meantime. Night boot + icing your heel a couple times a day + lots of stretching of your calves and feet + gym workouts + patience = some day you will be able to run again. Look at me: I am able to run 10-plus miles a week, which may not sound like much but is a heck of a lot better than nothing. Unfortunately I can't backpack with my sons which is very important to me, but I'm shooting for next summer, now that I'm not teaching any more and not standing on those hard school floors all day.

Dark Horse

Had a busy week and put off running, which is exactly the wrong thing to due. So, reoriented my "priorities" and hit the treadmill. I will get a run in tomorrow before leaving to Vegas on biz. I have usually done pretty well in the past while traveling there as most hotels have good gyms and treadmills. I don't drink and sitting around in casinos gets old pretty quick, so working out becomes a preferred option.

I am determined to get 20+ miles in one way or another this week.

Good runs there Ray and DH. Glad to hear your power did not go out DH. the destruction from Sandy is massive.

Cudoes to Christy and Ombama for focusing on what is important.

One day you have great cities, a complex economy, highly developed arts and letters, and people posting about their runs. The next day all is silent except for the wind, and the only movement in town is tumbleweeds blowing down Main Street. And me on my treadmill, of course.

Dark Horse
