MLAB Lightning '02 OPEN TRYOUTS!!!

For the 2013 Spring Season MLAB is looking for a bracket pitcher, catcher, utility players.

We are primarily looking for players born in 2002 which can age up and continue to play with our organization. However, consideration shall be given to strong players born in 2003.

MLAB Baseball and Softball Academy is located just off of I45 in Spring, Tx at 3332 Spring Stuebner Rd.

It's location in North Houston makes it an easy communte from the local surrounding areas such as Conroe, The Woodlands, Humble, Tomball, and Klein.

Our academy features a fully grassed field (which reduces practice rain outs) complete with lights and an indoor training facility with pitching lanes and batting cages w/ pitching machines.

MLAB has had many years of success with their Elite and Select baseball programs, led by Coach Jason Clark. Jason and his wife Sara decided in early 2012 to expand their program into softball.

In Feb. of this year, their inaugural team was constructed and went on to place 4th in the USFA Nationals located in Longview, TX under the direction of the team's current head coach.

The team is anchored now by several experienced members of that team and is in search of a few more girls to help them carry on.

MLAB's '02 10U Lightning is led by Coach Corey Houghton. In addition to his multiple years of playing competitive sports, he has 12 years of experience coaching softball, ranging from 6U all the way up to a high school squad. He spent 2 years as an assistant for a high school squad that won south state and state both years in the Mississippi Private School Association. Coach Corey understands the dynamics of the sport and is dedicated to player development and growth. He possesses a deep passion for coaching young athletes and is highly motivated.

MLAB has recently established a partnership with Coach Leslie Macaluso for her to become our pitching coach. Coach Macaluso played select ball as well as high school softball where she was named Freshman of the Year and 1st Team All District all 4 years. Coach Macaluso went on to compete in Div. II softball where she was named Captain of the Team in her sophomore year. She has been providing personal pitching lessons since 2006 and currently mentors about 30 girls from the Spring/Woodands/Conroe area.

We are looking to finalize our team as quickly as possible. If you are interested, you are encouraged to join us for open tryouts on Dec. 18th from 6:30-8:30.
