Hello, Macon Area Runners! In conjunction with the new Macon Tracks website, I've got a new forum up and running. This way we can have our own boards instead of having to use the coolrunning site forum. I need everyone's help to get it going. You all are the few who post here, so I know you're dedicated! If you could take a few minutes to register and write a post on one of the categories, I'd really appreciate it. I really hate that you missed the race - a lot of people got PR's and I'm sure you would've, too. I certainly know what it's like to register for a race and then not be able to go - it kinda sucks. As I'm sure you know from the many races you've run in the past though, some sizes go faster than others. We supplied the requested sizes for those present who were pre-registered, and then it was first-come, first-serve for race day registrants after that.

We were able to dig through and find you an XL instead of a XXL if you'd like to have it - just say the word and the children's home will send it to you. This may be small consolation, but I'll be stuck with a sleep shirt myself because I forgot to set one aside in my size.

It all went for such a great cause though, and the children's home appreciated everyone's generosity SO much. Some people even wrote checks above the registration fee to help pay for the kids' winter clothes! Thanks for all your support, guys.

How was Little Shot?

Anybody doing Macon Challenge Sunday? I got my 10K PR at that one last year, but the route has changed (and so have I; s-l-o-w-e-r!) Scott and I rode our bikes dowtown today and I think we figured out the route based on what the dude told him, but it wasn't marked so we're not positive.

The Xterra Scramble 5K/10K is the same day, but in the afternoon at 2:30, I think. I've never done an off-road race so I might try it out. It's up near Athens though, so it depends on how much $ I have for gas that day. (I can ride my bike to the Macon Challenge.) Of course, that'll change if anyone wants to carpool to try something new. Any takers?

Went hashing for the first time yesterday with MGH4. My legs are so scratched up that I won't be able to wear shorts or a skirt for at least a week, but I had a BLAST! Y'all might want to try it sometime.

Their schedule's posted at http://www.mgh4.com.[/URL" target="_blank"> The next hass is usually posted a couple of days in advance, so you have to keep your eyes open for it. I hesitated to go for a looooong time because their website makes them seem like a bunch of perverted prison excapees (come to think of it, that's how the run felt,) but they're pretty tame.

Hey, did you see that the Komen RftC is going to have chip timing this year (for those who preregister)? At least that's what the website says.

Sounds like they've also changed the course: "The race will begin in front of Wesleyan on Forsyth Road. Travel north on Forsyth Road to Zebulon, veer left onto Zebulon and travel up Zebulon to turn around. Travel back down Zebulon and turn right onto Wellington. Turn right on Brittany and right on Forsyth. Finally, turn right into the Wesleyan Campus to the finish line. The Celebration Walk/Kids for the Cure Parade will be on Wesleyan Campus."

See some of you at the Buggython tomorrow.

Scott: I won't be able to carpool to Barnesville. I've got an appointment Saturday morning after the race, so I'll be hustling back to Macon.
