I also just started running in the Puma Concinnity for speedier runs. Dumb name, decent shoe. It's light and comfortable, with good stability (I'm a slight-to-moderate overpronator). They're also very cool-looking. But, of course, we real runners don't care about looking good out there. One thing: it's a bit narrow, so if you have wide feet, I'd pass on it.

quote:

Originally posted by wing zero:

First of all, I know I should go to specialty running store and check these shoes out in person. But the stores in my area don't have all the brands. I will have to go to several stores to try out all the brands. So I will start with good ol' coolrunning first.
Info: Male 26. 155lbs. 5'9" 30-50 mpw. I have a normal arch and have ran in neutral shoes ok, but I like a little bit of stability. I am looking for a good light weight stability shoe to add to the rotation. Currently running in and loving the Asics DS-Trainer 11.

I was going to buy the new DS-Trainer 12, but it sucked. I did not like it at all. Come to find out, it sucks so much that Asics is discontinuing them. So I need another brand to go with here for a similar lightweight performance shoe.

What do you guys like?

I went to a NB store to try on a 902 this weekend and they were out of my size 11. I hear that these are good shoes.
Any Brooks wearers out there?
Mizuno?
Sacony?
I would try Nike but every time I do their shoes are too tight in the toe box.

Thanks for all you advice!!

I like the mizuno elixer. I tried the NB 902 and hated it - but that is just me. Got arch pain on my right foot. I also nned the wider toebox which is why nike is out for me although i do like their cushioing.

There has got to be other lightweight stability shoe wearers out there!

BTW. Asics 2100 series are nice, but they are not lightweight trainers.
