I did it!! Finished W4D3 yesterday (had some schedule issues so I couldn't do it saturday so here's to W5.&amp;nbsp; It was a difficult run for me for some reason.&amp;nbsp; Maybe part of it was mental and I just didn't want to be up at the gym at 7am on a Sunday morning.&amp;nbsp; Who knows?! The other thing is I was reading all the posts about the 20min run not realizing that its in week 5!! &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/images/emoticons/shocked.gif" width="16px"/&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Uhm no clue until I looked at the itenerary for this week.&amp;nbsp; DUH!!&amp;nbsp; Okay so I am a little intimidated cause I thought I had another week but its all good and I'm gonna do it and do it well!!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So I am charging into week 5 with my head high!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Good luck everyone!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:5932f7a4-e8b0-43c8-a1be-e1fc639c1656] --&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:09ae8702-04d0-42b5-800a-126ae07a56c7] --&gt;&lt;div class='jive-rendered-content'&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff00ff"&gt;Well team I finished WK4D3 yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to post.&amp;nbsp; It was interesting.&amp;nbsp; My daughter is sick and I am now sick too.&amp;nbsp; I was talking to my mom on the phone yesterday morning and she said "Are you sure you should go out running??"&amp;nbsp; I said, "Heck ya...my team is depending on me.&amp;nbsp; Plus other team members have been sick and they have done it!!"&amp;nbsp; Wow, I love peer pressure!&amp;nbsp; So it was about 40 degrees, but it was raining hard....and it was a COLD rain!!&amp;nbsp; But that was okay.&amp;nbsp; At first it was hard, but it seemed to get easier as the run went on.&amp;nbsp; And I too felt periods of "cruise control" and I recovered so much quicker than I have in the past.&amp;nbsp; It's so amazing to me how this program works and how our bodies are adjusting to what we need to do.&amp;nbsp; So eventhough I am a little apprehensive about W5D3, I know this program works.&amp;nbsp; Our bodies are pretty amazing.&amp;nbsp; As many of you have said before a HUGE part of this is mental.&amp;nbsp; When it was getting hard for me I couldn't say my legs hurt or I didn't feel like I was getting enough air....it was my HEAD!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff00ff"&gt; So my shins.....they are feeling much better.&amp;nbsp; It was so funny yesterday when I ran.&amp;nbsp; I don't really wear "running" attire.&amp;nbsp; I just wear these like capri length, cotton, drawstring waist pants and a shirt and usually this little jacket if it's cold and always a baseball cap.&amp;nbsp; Well before I went out the door my husband (oh and to answer someone's question "DH" is dear husband!!) demanded that I wear these compression socks that went up to my knees.&amp;nbsp; I told him there is no way I'm going to wear those I will look so silly.&amp;nbsp; He said "Angel it's not a fashion show!"&amp;nbsp; Well he was right.&amp;nbsp; I put the darn things on and look like a total goob-a-tron, but boy did those things feel good!!&amp;nbsp; They really worked!&amp;nbsp; My shins felt pretty darn good when I got home!&amp;nbsp; I ice'd anyway when I got home, but they are getting so much better.&amp;nbsp; So if anyone else is experienceing pain in there shins or ankles these things are really nice.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff00ff"&gt; Congratulations to all of you who have lost weight!!&amp;nbsp; That is so awesome!&amp;nbsp; I am so envious.....but I am so proud of you guys!&amp;nbsp; What a team we got here!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff00ff"&gt; I'll be starting W5 on Tuesday.&amp;nbsp; I'll keep checking in to see how it's going for everyone.&amp;nbsp; Keep up the great work team!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:09ae8702-04d0-42b5-800a-126ae07a56c7] --&gt;</description>

I was hoping to do my weekly Saturday long walk/run today but have reluctantly decided not to do so until tomorrow. I'm disappointed, although part of me wants to run, part of me doesn't today. We had a foot or more of snow with a goodly amount of freezing rain. The streets have been ploughed for the most part but the sidewalks haven't been touched yet. There's a major stretch of my route where running on the road edge is chancy enough but today, this IS no 'road edge' - the ploughs still have to come back &amp;amp; push the snow over farther &amp;amp; I'm not going to chance it - too much ice. I'm going to head out tomorrow morning instead &amp;amp; hope that that's been done &amp;amp; hopefully, the sidewalks as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Week Five - wow. I still can't believe I'm starting week five. I don't feel like a 'real' runner yet &amp;amp; I'm not sure what it's going to take to feel like one. Perhaps getting the 30 minutes strainght and/or the 5K distance done without any walking is what it will take. What I'm going to have to guard against is my own tendency to then find an excuse for NOT calling myself a runner. I'm prone to thinking things such as: "Oh you're not a REAL runner until you can: run 8K, 10K, an hour, do your first race, do your first race &amp;amp; place mid-pack" - anything to downplay my own accomplishments. I really have to get over that.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I don't run with an iPod, MP3 player or anything else but my own thoughts for company. I'm trying to use my running time, when the negatives creep in, to 'reset' the negatives tapes. Boy, it's hard though. It's seems especially hard looking at what's ahead of us. I mean the sky opened up and WHOOOOSH! So...we postponed our run until this morning. AND!!! We were rewarded with a beautiful sunny morning! It must be in the upper 40's today! The run started out really, really well! A cakewalk, I thought until I hit the third and fourth run and thought I was going to toss my proverbial cookies. LOL&amp;amp;gt; It seems my hubby set the pace a little faster than usual. Man! I was dying! I started to cry at the four minute mark! But, being that I am now a finisher and not a wuss I kept going. Smell ya later Week 4! Congrats everyone! Welcome to all of our new team-mates! Are you really out of breath? does anything actually hurt?" and since the answer to all three was always no I had to just keep going.&amp;nbsp; What do you guys think about when you are running?&amp;nbsp; I just keep thinking about how much longer.&amp;nbsp; I just wonder when the heck I will hear that voice telling me to walk again!&amp;nbsp; Sometimes I will start to find that place that Drew is calling his cruise control, but i am out of it just as fast as I am in it.&amp;nbsp; Do you guys think that alot of this is because I am inside on a treadmill? is it easier to occupy your mind out of the house?&amp;nbsp; If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
