Should I increase the speed or the incline to improve my pace. I usually run 5.8 Mph and 3% incline, anything lower and I run into the dash board. I have some advise for long distance training, know when you TM will shut down, mine is at 100 min, that is the point when most movies are getting real good.

JOY

I now rep them here in Michigan I like them so much. I use them ice skating and in line too when I do that though not so often anymore. Also I have a cycling cohort who uses them in his xc skate skiing boots. Check out www.ALINE.com. Not pricey either. Thanks for your response.

EJ

It has taken me 5 pairs of shoes to find the right ones and It was worth it.so take time for the shoes obviously we all now that our feet take a beating so take care of them,Good Luck!

That is, always run on a slight incline when on a treadmill. It is unnatural to run with a moving surface. The treadmill runs you so inclination minimizes that tendency. Keep it simple.

EJ

I had terrible pain in my groin (right where the top of the thigh meets the torso) and could barely walk without limping. I refused to give in and stop running so I really tried to pay attention to what I was doing and read these posts like crazy searching for tips. After a few weeks, I bought new running shoes, got extra arch support (cost a fortune but VERY worth it) and started running directly down the middle of the street (I run in the neighborhood in the very early am with almost no traffic so I can do that fairly safely with lots of reflective wear) and after about a week of doing this my pain was gone.

Even though I try to run on a flat surface it isn't always possible. So I try to even out the discomfort when I have to run on a crowned road (berm) by running out and back on the same side of the road. That way I have one leg short on the way out then the other leg short on the way back home. Of course that means I have to run with my back to traffic in one direction : {
