Thanks, though I'm planning on either running a marathon in Texas or Maryland, although the weather for the one in Maryland is looking like it may be cold rain, the forecast keeps flipping back & forth. If it was one I cared about, I'd run it regardless of the weather, but this one is just a throw-in, so I'm not sure what I'd do yet. Or I may be in Texas if the stars actually align.

Wherever I end up this weekend, good luck and have fun!

So Craig, you wanna run it with (ahead of) us this weekend?

I just checked out the course map. I lived in that area for six years, and the person in whose house I am currently a guest grew up there as well. Starts and ends at Brookdale Community College gymnasium (where, incidentally, I did my first kids' fun run at the age of five). Goes in a big loop, in the environs of Newman Springs Road. Rolling is a good word for it. It's Monmouth County's version of horse country. It is not "very hilly." By any stretch of the imagination.

For people about to run in Pittsburgh (hello, the Mon Incline?) and Spokane (Mt. Spokane? Doomsday Hill?) or even CMM, it would be like running on a pancake. Or perhaps a pancake with a few speed bumps.

Seriously, Kath. We'll be fine. It'll be awesome. And I promise not to chase you to the finish line with my squirt bottle.

No, wait.. I don't promise that. But it'll be fabulous. My friend is even considering coming to spectate (since, well, the thing practically goes by her old house)

Now that it's hit the mid-50s, I suppose I can answer. Nope, haven't run it. I hope that was worth the wait everybody.

I've heard it's rolling. From the elevation chart (http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/nj/eatontown/647834803013), it looks like it bounces a decent amount but nothing looks like a killer hill, it never even hits 2% on the chart... one way to find out for sure!

Hi Craig- have you ever run the E. Murray Todd Half marathon? Sara and I are thinking of trying it this weekend- the reports of hills has me a bit nervous as Im not prepared for hills- Im doing the nj marathon which as we know is flat. Any info you have would be very welcome. Thanks!
