Digital SLR Cameras

I'm trying to learn more about digital SLR cameras. My buddy got one a couple months ago and his pictures are just so much clearer and more detailed than mine. I'm working with a 7 mega pixel camera and I think SLRs are 10+ mega pixels. He has the Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xti and I was also looking at the Nikon D40x. Does anyone out there have buyer's guide advice for these expensive investments? Thanks in advance!

Workout While Working Abroad

I need some help,

I have recently been relocated to Middle East for a business. The apartment i live in has minimal workout equipment; dumbells up to 25lbs, a single adjustable bench, a exercise bike, and a small pool. The nearest gym is not within reasonable distance cosnidering the traffic that occurs in city everyday around 5pm. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for developing a full body workout i can possibly do with the minimal resources I have?

Summer camp while you vacation in San Diego!

We have family in San Diego and have taken a few vacations with the kids. Unfortunately after a few years, we have exhausted all of the "kid friendly" options in San Diego like Sea World, Legoland, the beach, etc. Now that our kids are getting older (12 and 15), we were hoping to find more long term options for them so we could finally have a break. We found a cool summer camp that is hosted in La Jolla at UC San Diego. Our kids were able to sign up for a technology class for half the day (they love video games) and take surf lessons the other half. It was a great way to get them to be more active while still learning some tech skills. We recommend it for any other family that might be looking in the San Diego area. It is pricey, but it was worth the peace of mind.

So there is an awesome event coming up February 20-21 at Wright State; Five Rivers Outdoors is hosting the Adventure Summit. This event will be a fun time for anyone who is interested in learning about outdoor activities. Also you will be able to watch and participate in some cool competitions.

Activities include presentations and workshops, a bouldering competition, a kayaking competition, a snowboarding competition, possibly an indoor triathlon, and party with the pros. Even Polar Explorer Ann Bancroft will be there! (She was the first woman to cross the ice to both the North and South poles.)

(It is all free except for the bouldering competition!)
