Sports Conditioning / Cross Training

Increase your athlete's overall sports performance and improve his/her cardiovascular endurance while he/she conditions for sports. Combining interval cross training with weight training exercises and plyometric drills, I will assist your son/daughter in building strength, power and increasing his/her speed. I will also incorporate cross fitness workout drills to increase his/her range of motion and improve his/her endurance and mental alertness.

Interval Cross Training is short periods of high intensity exercise followed by short rest periods.
Question about working out.

I'm known as a fast hiker and have been doing it for years, but recently as I approach my maximum heart rate I literally feel sick to my stomach and it happens when I play tennis, ride my bike, swim, etc. My doctor cannot figure out what is going on. Does anybody have an idea or have this happen to them?

Upper Saddle River Bootcamp launches Summer Schedule.

Are you looking for a unique, no-nonsense, and fun workout? Try Inspire Bootcamp's new Summer Schedule.

Inspire Bootcamp, the most efficient interval-training-based group exercise program available in Northern New Jersey is for you! Bergen County is buzzing about this unique group exercise program, and it's no wonder why. This program is not the typical boot camp - get fit without getting screamed at, utilizing sports movement skill progressions instead of the typical "Paris Island" styled repetitive calisthenics. A favorite among Bergen County Baby Boomers, Inspire has launched it's summer schedule and invites local residents to request a Free Trial Pass to enjoy a session.

Inspire Bootcamp is led by 33-year veteran trainer, Neal Pire, NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Neal has worked extensively with athletes at all levels – from the developmental Soccer player, to the Olympic figure skater, to the NFL Pro football player. He has served on the Sports Medicine Team for USA Track and Field and the New York City Marathon, and is currently a Strength and Conditioning Specialist for USA Swimming’s Sports Medicine and Science Network. Inspire Bootcamp brings his unique training philosophy to Weekend Warriors and "beginner housewives" alike who will get the benefit of improved agility and "sport-speed", inaddition to enhanced physical conditioning.

Bootcamp sessions are challenging and vigorous, but specific exercise progressions are adjusted for those participants with special needs. InspireBootcamp has "inspired" participants with heart disease, low back pain, diabetes, and even one on verge of getting a knee replacement.

"Pire's clients sing his praises and return mostly because of the results." - The Bergen Record

September 2010

With Inspire Bootcamp, you will have to fight fatigue, but you won't have to fight the elements, because the Inspire Bootcamp is offered indoors.
Question about a jump in heart rate

Hello all -

I am a 49 yr old male who up until recently hadn't seen a doctor for regular medical care and hadn't worked out much at all in the last 15 yrs - I used to work out 6 days a week but the pressures of having a family and being self employed pushed my workouts to the side. This year I saw a doctor and had full checkup. Good health overall but found very high chiolestrerol and low thyriod.Taking meds for both conditons. Because I had not had any medical checkups for such a long time and because of my high cholesterol and occasional chest pains ( have had them my entire life - was told as a young man it was due to intercostal muscle issues), I had a cardiac stress test done. The cardiologust told me , and I quote " you did very well, - actually exceptionally well". So for the last 4 weeks I have been working out on a vison fitness exercise bike for 30 minutes a day trying to keep my heart rate around 112 bpm. Last week something strange happened and it happened again this morning. About 20 minutes into the workout, the heart rate monitor suddenly showed my heart rate jumping from 112 to 129 to 141 to 178 in a matter of about 5 seconds - the odd thing is that I felt no shortness of breath or chest pain. I did notice that when I tried to feel my pulse in my wrist at the time it was harder to find but was found easily in my neck and seemed very regular and strong. If I slowed my pedaling way down the monitor showed my heart rating dropping back down tot he 112 range pretty quickly, but not as quickly as it showed it jumping up. I am going to try a differnt heart rate monitor tomorrow to see if there is anything wrong with the monitor. Anyone here have any idea what is going on? I will bring it up with my doctor on my next visit but since I feel no shortness breath or chest pain whatsoever, is there anything to be worred about?

Pain After Work Outs

My wife and I are in extreme pain for days after our work outs. Is this normal when first starting out? I worked my Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders 2 days ago and I feel like I have seperated both shoulders and my arms are cramping up as i write this. The trainer advised to stretch and drink lots of water. We have done both and are still in a great deal of pain. Is there anyhting else we can do to minimize the pain from these workouts?

A start in bridging the gap between the couch video gamers and the fitness junkies out there

So in 2005 the Sony Playstation came out with the eye toy. This opened up

avenues for some fitness style games to encourage a exercise training program.

Kinetic was the front runner offering the gambit from aerobics to tai chi style

balance routines. By using the camera the game would register movement you made

on the screen. This wasn't bad, but left a little to be desired in a smaller

living room with any type of decor on your walls.

Now once again we see the gaming industries stepping up to the plate, this

time with the Nintendo Wii. They opened their initial bundle with Wii sports

that introduced their gamers to the interactive controls. Now they are

attempting to venture into fitness, this time with a new type of controller

that is called a "balance board".

They are launching Wii Fit; it is supposed to offer a full range of balance

and aerobic style activities. It goes with the concept to registering your

weight distribution on their new controller. From its demo, I saw everything

from push ups, yoga, dancing and the hula hoop.

So this leads me to the question:

With all of the new technologies coming up, do you think this type of video

game can indeed get people off their couch and start exercising?
