      <title>Not sure how to proceed with my training after the swine flu...</title>

Lauderdale Marathon on Feb. 21.&amp;#160; I've been following Hal Higdon's novice training schedule and I had just finished my long run for week three when I came down with the swine flu.&amp;#160; It was a step back week, so it was only a 5 miler (that was one week ago.)&amp;#160; Today I was suppose to run a 9 miler, but I haven't run all week and there was no way I could do it today.&amp;#160; My lungs are still really sore and I get winded going up the stairs, so I think it could realistically be another 3 or 4 days before I'm ready to run.&amp;#160; My next long run is an eleven miler in a week (I'm not too concerned about missing the short mid week runs, but I'm really worried missing my long runs.) &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, my question is... when I'm ready to start running again do I just pretend I haven't missed any time and jump right back into my schedule (even if I have to walk a lot of that next 11 mile run?)&amp;#160; Or do I need to back up and make up what I've missed (but then I'm worried I'll be running my 20 miler too close to the marathon.)&amp;#160; Any ideas?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:87ffb337-3bc3-46f5-823e-390f366232e4] --&gt;</description>
