4C Totally Light 2Go Big Shot Volleyball Coming to Siesta Key

The $75,000 4CTotally Light 2Go Big Shot Volleyball Series will bring beach volleyballplayers from throughout the US and Canada to Siesta Key April 27-28 for the 13^thtournament in the 35 event 2013 season. The tournament last year brought 240teams from 20 states and Canada to Siesta Key with the help of Gold Coast EagleDistributors, The Boatyard Grill and the Sarasota County Parks Department. Over$2,000 prize money will be awarded along with a trip to the $8,000 Big ShotChampionships at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City, NY on September 7-8.

Top players fromthroughout East Coast will be playing in Siesta Key starting at 9 am Saturdaymorning including Tampa’s Matt Henderson, and Pompano Beach brothers Steve andMark Van Zwieten. Mark Vanzwieten was the youngest player to earn a pay checkon the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour in 2008.

Top femaleplayers will include local stars Chara Harris and Megan Wallin all summer and TaraKuk/Kendra Vanzwieten who have fared well on the Pro Beach Volleyball Tour.Many additional top US players will be registering as the event date drawsnear.

Players of allskill levels will be eligible for play in the tournament co-sponsored by RiderSandals. The Rider Sandal Big Shot VolleyballSeries, presented in Hilton Head by Sprout Watches, will return to Hilton Headon May 4-5. Teams from throughout the East Coast will compete as they warm upfor the 2013 summer season. Top male and female doubles teams will compete for$2,000 cash prizes plus a trip to the $8,000 Big Shot Championships September7-8 at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Tournament play will start at 9 amwith women’s finals scheduled for 6 pm Saturday and men’s finals 12 noon onSunday.. Admission is free for all spectators.

The tournaments are sanctioned byVolley America, the largest grass roots program in the US. The Best Beach Volleyball Finals in 36 Years?

One of the best Men's Open Finalsin EEVB's 36 year history has been posted to the East End Volleyball YouTubeChannel at http://youtu.be/i4olRn73Njg. The match was played in Hollywood, FL on Sunday April 20, 2013 between AdrianCarambula/Tyler Lesneski and Mark Van Zwieten/Piotr Marciniak. All 4 playersincluding the Rox Volleyball sponsored Carambula make some unbelievable playsduring the match. There were numerous long rally’s including one over 30seconds long, a lifetime in beach volleyball.

The best of 3 game match was tiedin both games at 21-21. The final scores in the first two games were 28-26 and25-23. The match had everything you can see in beach volleyball from sky ballsto great digs, playing the ball deliberately off the net to your partner,jumping over banners to save the ball and a lot of very hard play and superioreffort by both teams.

The tournament is the 6^thbeach tournament on the 30 tournament long Big Shot Volley Tour promoted byEast End Volleyball and sanctioned by Volley America. The tournament site atHollywood, FL is one of the best on the tour with plenty of sitting space alongthe beautiful Hollywood Broadwalk plus in the numerous restaurants lining theBroadwalk.

Spalding's KOB All-Weather Volleyball will be theofficial ball for 2012

The Big Shot Volleyball Championships,presented by 4C Totally Light 2Go, will return to Atlantic City on September8-9, 2012 in front of Bally’s Casino. The tournament is entering its 22ndseason bringing top beach volleyball players to Atlantic City

The tournament has a tradition ofplacing the past winners on the event t-shirt that is given to all of the playerseach year at registration. To show the strength of this event three of the pastwinners competed in the London 2012 Olympics:

Phil Dalhausser, 2008 Olympic Gold medalist for theUnited States
Steve Grotowski who represented Great Britain
Marie Andree Lessard who represented Canada

Top male and female doubles teams fromthroughout the United States and Canada will compete for $8,000 cash prizes atthe tournament, courtesy of Bally’s Casino, East End Volleyball and GreatAmerican Volleyball. Spalding's KOB All-Weather Volleyball’s will be all over the beach

The Big Shot Volleyball Series,presented by Spalding King of the Beach Volleyballs, will return to Long Beach,NY on August 11-12 with the $6,000 Totally Light 2Go Summer Breeze Tournament.The tournament will be sponsored by 4C Corporation, the makers of Totally Light2Go Powdered Energy Drinks and Vitamin Stix. The Men’s Open Finals will berecorded and shown on YouTube Tuesday night, August 14. The event is sanctionedby Volley America, the largest beach volleyball grass roots organization in theUS.

Top male doubles teams will competefor $5,000 cash prizes at the tournament. Players will also earn points in the$25,000 Volley America Grand Prix, to be awarded at the end of the season.Tournament play will start at 9 am Saturday with semi-finals and finalsstarting Sunday at 11 am. Admission is free for all spectators. The tournamentwill be held on the beach at Riverside Blvd.

The Big Shot Volleyball Series holds35 events leading to the September 8-9 Big Shot Championships in Atlantic City,NJ and the October 27-28 $5,000 Volley America National Championships at ClearwaterBeach, FL.

Top male players in this weekend’stournament include Pro Beach Volleyball player and EEVB Junior Program Coach,Mark Burik. Players also expected to compete are Brooklyn’s top player, MikeSalak, and his partner Greg Hunter from the Jersey Shore. All have played onthe Pro Beach Volleyball Tour.

Top female players include LongBeach’s own Dana Fiume, who has also played on the AVP Pro Beach VolleyballTour. Other top LI females competing who have also played on the Pro beach VolleyballTour include Hilary and Melanie Pavels. Melanie also plays collegiately on the FloridaState Sand Volleyball Team and as an amateur cannot accept prize money untilshe graduates.

Separate divisions will be held forplayers of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday. The $60 entryfee entitles players to a full day of tournament play, an official TotallyLight 2 GO Big Shot Volleyball t-shirt, and prizes from event sponsor’s Spalding,Bally’s Casino, Hot Buttered Sunglasses, Sarasota Convention & VisitorsBureau, Zem Booties Sand Socks, Rider Sandals, Park & Sun net systems, DigMagazine, and Sportime.
