Indoor Volleyball vs. Beach Volleyball... which do you prefer?

I currently play both and I prefer beach volleyball. I find that the sand is more challenging in that it's much harder to run and jump in, but it's also more forgiving to the knees, ankles, lower back, etc. I have very little fear of diving for a ball in the sand. Although the classic indoor six person volleyball game is much faster, I get less of a workout because there are five other people who I can depend on. It's just you and your partner covering your entire court in the traditional two person beach volleyball game, unless of course you're playing fours or sixes.

Either way, I'd rather play volleyball than any other sport. But when it comes down to indoor volleyball versus beach volleyball, BEACH VOLLEYBALL RULES!

Hey i'm new to the volleyball scene and i wanted to know if any 1 had any info on Avp Qualifers, camps, anything in the Tri-State area im From Jersey my self but i can easily get to NY and any thing local if i have to. Thank You

It doesn't matter which court surface is used. The sport is best played with a serve in which the receiving team has two hits to return the ball over the net: , then each team has 5 hits to point . Trash the rally point system , implement a modified side-out system of play with multiple point scoring system, including goals behind each court for three point scores , limit closure to the team with the serve and blast away.

I am very active 24 year old man looking to play in the AVP someday. I have played alot of volleyball in college and summer sand ball but don't have experience in 2 man because there is none where I live in Minnesota. I willing to do whatever needed to join AVP and find a partner. What can I do to get there?

New Years Resolutions for 2008

The New Year is quickly approaching and its time to start getting our New Years Resolutions for 2008 together so we can kick them off on January 1. What are your resolutions for this year?

In 2008 I am going to....

1 - Get on a schedule for going to yoga classes (which will also help my back and allow me to be more active)

2 - Do one new thing (restaurant, sport, activity, museum, etc.) a month

3 - Run in at least 10 events for good causes

4 - Encourage my friends and family to get active with me

5 - Start bringing my lunch to work more often

6 - Cut back on eating fish tacos...I'm addicted and it is not okay to eat them as often as I do

So that is my list...the first two in bold are the most important to me and I will NOT flake on them.

I live in jacksonville, Fl and I am looking for people to play beach volleyball after work and on the weekends who are all about having fun and at the same time being very competitive.

practice time

My 12 year old played youth volleyball on a county team for two years, now she is in junior high and playing for the school. She made the "B" team and I know this upsets me more than it does her, However the "B" team practices during school athletics class along with the "A" team, "B" team goes home after school and "A" team practices for 2 hours after school. I think both teams should get an equal amount of practice time, they have seperate games. Is this standard procedure?
