Those ionic necklaces?

Does anyone know what the deal is with these rope necklaces ( titanium necklaces ) that I keep seeing all the baseball players and kids around school wearing? I like the lookand have considered buying one. I've looked into them and found a great website that lets you customize them with 50 colors of rope to pick from. You pick the colors, they assemble and ship it out within a few days for around $20. Has anyone used this website? Its TitaniumTwisters.com

I posted this on the Running and Cycling pages, but thought it might be of interest to multiple active genres. It's a brand new technology where you can see behind you in real time. They call it an electronic rear view mirror. It looks totally cool and screams "safety" to me. I can't wait to try one.

Running Shoes?

I am going to begin the C25K training and I'm guessing that the tennis shoes I bought at Payless last year or the K-Swiss from about 10 years ago are not the type of shoes I need for this type of activitity. I went to the store and was overwhelmed with the choices...cross-trainer, running, walking...Nike, Adidas, New Balance...omg...HELP! What do I need to consider when purchasing shoes for this adventure? And does it matter that my feet tend to be narrow? What makes this hilarious is that I love shoes and have over 50 pair...they're just the high-heeled variety! My sister has recommended Nike lunar elite or Adidas sonic 2.

I've been messing around with this software for the last week. It works on Windows Mobile, iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia and other phone with GPS. http://sportypal.com

So I guess for those of us without Garmins etc this is pretty cool. Obviously there is no link to HR info and I find the GPS reads shorter than my wheel sensor, but other than that, I am happy. You can upload straight from the phone, and even post to twitter or Facebook if you so desire. For me it works perfectly as a training diary.
