High School Softball Star Pitcher With Prosthetic Leg

Tuttle High School's Cassie Chambless was the ace pitcher on her top ranked softball team in the state last year despite playing with a prosthetic leg. Has has anyone seen her play or know anything about her? Does anyone know if she was able to play in college? What a great story!

Which feat do you think is the hardest to accomplish in a softball game?

A.) A complete game shutout by a pitcher

B.) 10 + strikeouts by a pitcher in a game

C.) Perfect day at the plate (i.e. 4 for 4 batting)

D.) Hit a home run

I personally believe that notching 10 or more strikeouts in a single game is the most admirable. It takes great skill and precision, and also great concentration and endurance. Chances are that the pitcher has at least three or four stellar pitches in her repertoire and can handle the rigors of pitching long distance while batters come up to bat 2-4 times in a game and can pick up tendencies. To be able to accomplish this is simply outstanding.

Just wondering which states play their normal high school season in the fall (not fall ball). And, if you're in one of those states; do you like it that way?

I've seen plenty of times women playing on Baseball Teams at the little league and high school level. I wonder if there is any state rules about this? And why cant young men play on the softball team..hmmm? Maybe they should make two teams for each gender?? I have no problem with this issue, I say if she can play ball...SHE CAN PLAY BALL!! But Remember....THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!http://community.active.com/images/emoticons/cry.gif! ....Tell me what ya think??

This is an underrated area, usually produces quite a few good seniors each year. Ooltewah High School is ranked nationally this season and two others, GPS and Soddy-Daisy have been ranked in recent seasons. That's not been considering only about 10 of the 37 schools play in the highest classification.

Why is it that there is only a handful of states that have passed a Bill from the state senate for High School Students to undergo random drug tests in any sport. This is a major health and awarness issue, that needs to be a mandatory high school steroid program in all states for all High Schools!

I just noticed that 15 of the 18 members of the Women's USA Softball team are from California...does that mean California softball is the best in the world? Perhaps we should just start sending the California All-Star team to the Olympics and save the time and money of having actual tryouts!
