National MS Society Run Cinco de Mayo

Memories and join the fight with against MS this Cinco de Mayo. Come join over 300 runners and volunteers for Connecticut's first annual run MS. It will be a 5K at Rentchester Field in East Hartford on May 5, 2012. Event information includes:

Registration begins at 8 a.m. The 5k will start at 9 a.m. There will also be a fun run that starts at 10 a.m.

Fees:

$25 through March 31st

$30 as of April 1st

$35 day of

Fun run- $5 pre-registered and $10 the day of

The event will feature a 5K course within stadium grounds, a post-run Cinco de Mayo themed fun run, vendors, prizes, music and light refreshments.

The discounted $25 pre-registration fee includes a commemorative T-shirt. Participants are encouraged to fundraise. The 5K is a simple yet powerful way to bring the community together and raise awareness about MS. For further informaiton please visit ctfightsms.com. Hope to see you there!

Obviously I could do the legwork and start asking, but there has to be someone out there who has done this and give me a push in the right direction. The Polar Crush 18 and Under Gold softball team will be holding tryouts for the Fall 2011 / Summer 2012 team on Sunday August 14th from 4-7pm. Tryouts will take place at Veterans Field at 144 School Street in Woburn, MA behind the Senior Center. In case of rain please check the website at www.polarcrushsoftball.org We will be looking for 5 players to complete the roster. This team is for players that are looking to compete at the Division 1 college level. Fall tournaments will include the prestigious Team NJ Showcase, ESPN Rise Sun Classic in Orlando, FL and at least two others. Summer tournaments include Pennsbury and the Independence Day Boulder, Colorado. Crush has a 21 year history of placing players at the NCAA D-1 college level.
