So, I am looking for advice from all of you about how to best prepare.

Sept 13 - Montreal Marathon

Sept. 20 - Recovery, ie: spending time with my children and husband, eating, and sleeping.

Sept 27 - ?

Oct 4 - ?

Oct 11 - Cleveland Towpath Half Marathon

Oct 18 - Taper

Oct 25 - Niagara

My pattern to date has been to do a long run every other week, building up to 20. On the intervening weeks, I have done an endurance activity on my bike. During the week, I do some running, but also a lot of biking, yoga, and pilates. This schedule has worked for me to keep the injuries away.

I need to fit a long run in my schedule but am not sure which week to do it. Would this weekend be too soon following Montreal? I feel fine and that would follow my typical on-off pattern. I am hesitant to do a super long run on the 4th and then a half marathon the next weekend. My body seems to need that intervening week to really recover. On the other hand, would a long run this weekend be too far out from the full? Last question...I promise...how long should my long run be...20?

Just think folks, a year ago the docs told me I would never run another marathon This is pretty exciting.

One of my goals this year has been to increase my mileage to more that 15 miles daily to run between 3-4 hours for at least a month. Well, first quarter I had a fracture in shinbone, second quarter I had a fracture on my foot. I ran several marathons with my foot rapped up and it was impossible to keep running everyday with injuries. I was finally able to achieve this goal today without injury. I ran perfect 15 miles today, but it was a close call, almost stepped on a copperhead! I stepped my right foot in front of it as it was crossing the trail. She raised her head to strike and I jumped one foot high!

What is your personal goal this year?
