31 mile/50K trail ultramarathon in the bag! It's rare these days that I get an opportunity to attempt an event or distance that is unknown to me. I was very lucky on many fronts. Even though it was very cold at race start (39 degrees!) it was a beautiful day, clear and crisp. January 18th, 2009 Arizona Rock n' Roll Marathon PR 3:27:28 Yesterday I kicked off the new race year on a positive note by posting a 6 min + PR with my first sub 3:30 marathon. The conditions were nearly perfect with the only exception being a bit of a nasty headwind at the worst possible time (miles 21 t0 24.5 on a slight up hill stretch).   It's Friday morning and I, like a lot of you I suspect, am nursing my traditional turkey hangover.  The good news is that I got a huge training day in yesterday before the turkey rolled out and I have another one planned for today.  I wanted to jump on today and say congratulations to the Team Bear Naked members who raced Ironman Arizona last weekend.  I was visiting Phoenix for Thanksgiving and came out to the race to support a friend (that by the way set a PR on the day)...

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA  (August 24, 2008) Team Bear Naked-San Diego kicked off its 2008 race campaign with an impressive showing at the 20th Annual Imperial Beach Triathlon, hosted by the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce.  All three Team Bear Naked competitors posted top 10 results, with two podium finishes.  Brad Golden won the Men's 25-29 division, Kim McLaughlin finished 2nd among Women's Clydesdale, and Devin Reilly placed 9th in Men's 25-29.   This year's race events sta...
