Hey Everyone!

Can you believe February will already be over after tomorrow?! Where does the time go?

You all have been extremely active in promoting MGD 64 this past month which has been reflected in all of the activity reports coming in. Our Team Video Contest ended yesterday and we will be taking the next week to review the videos and determine the winners. Thank you to all who submitted a video!!

Just a reminder that we need you to submit all of your _un-reported _activity to date by Monday morning. The cash reward earners will be selected on Monday so be sure to keep yourself in the running!!

Earlier this week, the brand posted the MGD 64 product locator on www.mgd64.com. There is also a widget that is basically a smaller version of the locator that you can place on your personal pages and share with all of your friends. We highly encourage you to use and share this fun tool!

The widget is located: http://www.mgd64.com/locator/get_widget.html or can be downloaded from http://www.mgd64.com/.

Very Quiet

Posted by Neil Jacobson Feb 21, 2009

The team must be doing something because I'm not "winning" every month. There's about one more month of this left. My AmEx "beer card" is depleted (it was supposed to last through the end of March). Races and events are starting to ramp up but I screwed up my shoulder about 3 months ago and it's still killing me so I can't do too much. What has everyone else been up to? Anyone up for slapping together a silly video?

Yes, it finally happened. That ultimate non-partisan judge of consumer value has weighed in on the light beer sector this month (Feb. 2009). Their unbiased testers took on MGD 64 and compared it against Miller Lite:

Tasters said that the beers have similar flavor and seem related to each other, but Miller Lite is slightly more complex and heavier-bodied, with a more intense flavor. MGD 64 is refreshing but seems much lighter in flavor and is a little watery. MGD 64's Web site cites malt and hop "cues." "Cue" is about right-it has little of the malty taste that defines beer. It also feels a little different, with lots of very small bubbles and lighter foam than Miller Lite had in our beer taste test.

"Very small bubbles"? That's hitting a beer where it hurts!

Hey there everyone,

Anyone planning on doing the full Vineman in 2009 or know someone that is?  I am trying to take advantage of the 3 for the price of 2 discount that they offer.  If you or someone you know is interested in getting in on something like that, just let me know.

Thanks!

I guess you all saw this email:

Each of you should be receiving a Holiday Packet in the mail (via Fedex) in the next couple of days including:

  • 13 MGD 64 Bottle Opener Key Chains

  • 10 MGD 64 Informational Calorie Cards

Turkey Trot?

Posted by Neil Jacobson Nov 26, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I have been out of commission for 3 weeks owing to a strained muscle. That meant that I have only been able to lay back and drink MGD64 which is a work out of another sort. In any event, I'm starting to feel better and I'm planning on doing the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot (slowly) tomorrow. I'll probably bring a fistful of coupons to hand out. Anyone else planning on attending?

Happy Thanksgiving TEAM MGD64!

Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday weekend with your family and friends.

With less than a week until December 1st we would like to encourage all of you to incorporate MGD 64 into your holiday festivities. It will go great with your home-cooked feasts as it is the lightest calorie beer on the market! Remember to take lots of photos and submit them with your reports by Sunday night.

Let's give it one last push for the month of November and show them what it is all about Team. As of today, the current market high score is as follows for the month of November:

  • San Francisco: 300

The overall market high score for the month of November is currently 300 points. You still have 5 days to beat out the competition - we know that you can do it!

I look forward to hearing about your weekend's events when I pull the report on Monday and again have a very safe and happy holiday.

Warm regards,

Team MGD64 Management

Next Event?

Posted by surlygirly Oct 28, 2008

Hi All -

I don't know where the time flies, but it sure has since our last meeting!  It feels like it might be time to organize our next happening...any ideas?  I know we had all discussed pooling our MGD64 resources for a better event draw...should we plan something around that construct?  Suzie had mentioned using her venue to host something. As an alternative, it seems like a post-election celebration might be timely. If nothing else, we should all meet up again for pints soon.

Let me know your thoughts,

Best,

Athlete Kits?

Hi All,

Has anyone received their athlete kit yet? Just curious.

I guess we ought to make the first meeting official by recapping the event on this blog. Five team members attended. Luke, Mairin, Suzie, Nicole and Neil (me). Luke brought his wife and some friends so we had a group of about 10 people. Greens is a crowded sports bar at the corner of Green and Polk in SF and was wild with excitement as most of the TVs were tuned to the Dodgers standing on the brink of elimination (although 2 were tuned to the last Presidential debate - with Sen. McCain standing on the brink of elimination, perhaps). Green's does not sell MGD64 but did sell MGD and MGD Lite. Oh well.

What is clear is that without Nicole's iridescent green pants we would have likely never found one another (thanks Nicole). The conversation flowed freely as we discussed our various sporting interests (Nicole: running, cycling; Mairin; road and mountain biking esp. downhill!; Luke: triathlon; Suzie: running; Neil: triathlon) and previous experience with this sort of marketing program (Luke: some granola-based variation; Mairin: has or had other sponsors; everyone else: neophytes). We started to brainstorm ideas for events. It turns out that Suzie is some sort of mover and shaker at Larkspur Hotels and suggested that we hold an event at one of her properties (duh! OK. That's not hard to agree to.) We decided that pooling our 2 cases of MGD64 per month as a group would allow to hold a bigger, better event. Suzie was going to think about some dates (Thursdays seemed good, she was thinking sooner rather than later - i.e., some Thursday in October, maybe around Union Square). It was also agreed that since both Suzie and Nicole would be doing the Nike Women's Marathon on 10/19, we would start in earnest on 10/20.

Other ideas were bandied about, Luke has a relative who runs a boxing gym in San Carlos, perhaps we could (again) pool our beer resources to do something there. Sports Basement will upon request host a shopping party in which food is provided and participants get 20% off all purchases that day - again pooling beer for "free refreshments" would make this event a winner. They also allow entertainment or slideshows or whatever. (Anyone in band?) Other possibilities include short (or long) training rides or runs that end at an appropriate establishment for recuperation.

I think this captures most of the thoughts. Feel free to add your own embellishments. I'll attach the photos we took at Green's.

I think now we get 10 points each, right?

If you're on the Peninsula tomorrow and want to hang out with some swell folks consider dropping by my triathlon club's season end bash at 5:30pm at the Tied House 954 Villa Street, Mt. View, CA 94041 US . There will be food available for $10 per person and drinks are no-host. The Tied House is a brewpub that serves only its own house-brewed beers so no MGD64 there but still: wear your MGD64 gear if you got it and bring your coupons!

Hope you can join us!

Welcome to the Team MGD 64 San Francisco Blog. We created this blog so you and your fellow MGD 64 ambassadors could collaborate and communicate with each other regarding all things MGD 64. Not only can you alert your peers about upcoming happy hours and social events, but also build personal relationships with your market and maybe find a new drinking buddy or two! Your market may prove to be your biggest help throughout your sponsorship because they are experiencing the same things you are.

Happy Blogging!

Cheers,
