How do I create my workout library?

Training Plans are made up of Workouts.  There are two ways to create your Workouts: You can either create all of your workouts first and save them into your workout library or you can create your workouts as you go.

Option 1: Create Workouts first and save them into your Workout Library

 

1. Log-in to the ActiveTrainer Coaching Center

 

2. Click on the "Training" link in the top navigation bar and click on the "Workouts" tab

 

3. Click on "Add New Workout"

 

4. Select the type of workout from the drop-down menu (i.e. running, swimming, cross training, etc.)

 

5. Assign it a Workout Code so you can use this workout again (you are the only one who will see this code) and an optional Short Description (you are the only person who will see this as well - the point of the description is to remind yourself what your code/saved workout is).

 

6. Click the "Next" button

 

7. Select the emphasis of the workout using the drop-down menu. (Optional)

 

8. Select an Activity from the drop-down.  (If you want to add an Activity that's not already included in the list, you will have to add a new one under the "Activities" tab before you create your workout.  Please note that doing so will navigate you away from the Add a Workout page. For more information, please read How do I add a new activity?)

 

9. Indicate the Intensity, Distance, Duration, and/or Pace of the workout.

 

10. The Workout Instructions and Coach's Notes sections are for you to write whatever you want. Describe the workout, provide motivating words of encouragement, etc.

 

11. Attach a file if you'd like.

 

12. Click the "Save" button when you're done.

Option 2: Create Workouts as you go

 

1. Log-in to the ActiveTrainer Coaching Center

 

2. Click on the "Training" link in the top navigation bar and click on the "Training Plan" tab.

 

3. After you have completed all the Training Plan Details, click "Save" and click on the "Training Plan Calendar" link to view your blank training calendar.

 

4. Click on "Add Workout"

 

5. Select the type of workout from the drop-down menu (i.e. running, swimming, cross training, etc.)

 

6. If you think that you might want to save this workout and use it again several times in the future, assign it a Workout Code (you are the only one who will see this) and an optional Short Description (you are the only person who will see this as well - the point of the description is to remind yourself what your code/saved workout is). Assigning a workout code will automatically add this workout into your Workout Library.  If you don't want this workout to be added to your library, leave the Workout Code and Short Description fields blank.

 

7. To add a workout that's already been saved to your Workout Library, select "Add a workout from your library" and choose a workout from the drop-down menu.

 

8. Click the "Next" button

 

9. Continue by following steps #7-12 from Option 1 above
