This is an amazing event, VERY WELL ORGANIZED, with spectacular views of the Eastern Sierra. The Aid stations are well distributed, very well supplied and the proceeds are all donated to the Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop CA (a most worthwhile cause!)
Please support this event, there are events for all levels....
I participated in the 20 mile fun run event this year and it was great. The course is very beautiful, the race is well organized, the course well marked, and the aid stations well stocked. I can't recommend the Bishop High Sierra events enough.
I had so much fun at the bishop 50 miler.Great race super organized, beautiful mountains, great volunteers..and Marie the race directer is awsome:)I will be back next year for sure Betsy
Outstanding race organization from pre-race through post-race. Been to a lot of races and cannot think of anything that needs to change/improve.
Simply stated; a must do for anyone trying to break into the Ultra world. This course is as demanding as you want it to be. However, stand by for heck if you are caught on that course during a hot Owens Valley day. The staff put on a great show the times I've been there (2010 and 2011). Mary Boyd is the heart and soul of the show -- it remains to be seen what happens when she retires as an organizer. Bishop is a good host town for this event. Bring a friend!!!
My husband did the 50K last year and talked me in to doing the 20 mile "fun run" while he did the 50K again. What an AWESOME course with awesome scenery and a great bunch of people supporting us! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Loved it.
