What do you think is the best running shoes?

Hey Everyone!

I saw a review of New Balance running shoes. What do you think is the best running shoes?

I love my Mizunos. Not for any other reason than they are by far the most comfortable and just-right supportive for my feet and stride. The best shoes are the ones that make you feel as good in your shoes as I do in mine, but that's probably not the kind of conversation you were trying to spur!

The best running shoe is what you find that works for you, that's my opinion plain and simple.

I landed on the asics gt 21 something series a few years back and have stuck with it through their numerous upgrade cycles, up to the 2150 now.

For racing flats I've settled on the Saucony Fastwitch 4.

I've' thought about trying something else - but why bother?  They're doing me well enough over thousands of miles, so why risk a bad experience with a change?

Actually time to buy a new pair.

There is no such thing as a best shoe just like theres no such thing as a best training plan or a best diet.  Different shoes work for different people.  Make sure that you go to a reputable running store where the staff can evaluate your running form and make an educated recommendation.  This will save you alot of aggravation in the long run.  Best of luck!

I agree with Brad.  No such thing as a best shoe...so I don't run in any.  I do fire up my Vibram Bikilas when I'm running on nasty surfaces or for winter protection.  They're close enough to Barefoot for me.

When I first started running I would switch to different brands everytime I needed a new pair but along the way I found asics and have been wearing them since the 2110 series. I'm on 2150 now. They just fit and feel the best for me. A running store might be a big help to you getting fitted correctly the first time.

I am Nike for life . Some of my running buddies and I have figured out a few things - Nike makes shoes for narrow feet and neutral runners, and New Balance makes shoes for wide feet and offer different styles for over and under pronators (your feet land on the inside or outside when you run). Truthfully, I started my running life in Nikes - back when I was 17. I have worn Nikes ever since with a little detour for a pair of Adidas and a pair of Asics, but both of those gave me blisters initially and it felt like it took too long to 'break them in'. I never have to 'break in' Nikes and I have never gotten blisters from them. Currently I have two pairs of Nike Air Max shoes with cushioned insoles and they have taken me through several races and a lot of training runs.

Different people will prefer different shoes, it's all a matter of preference. I'm glad that my feet like the Nikes because I love the styles/colors available.
