Bike consideration...

I just completed my first sprint triathlon last weekend! I borrowed a bike for this event and need to return it. I've already signed up for another one in September so I need to buy a bike of my own. I'm looking at the 2012 Giant Escape 1 W. I hope to do two more sprint tris next year and then maybe move into Olympic tris.
Is there another brand I need to be looking at other than Giant? The cost of this one is around $500 and I don't want to go higher than that.
Thanks!
DT
lots of great bike makers - Trek, specialized, bianchi, cannondale, cervelo talk w/ your good local bike shop about a bike that fits you and your budget they should be able to hook u up
goals for 2011:
break 19minutes for 5k
break 2:42 for olympic triathlon probably Anthracite olympic
break 3:16 for marathon ( a long shot but it's fun putting yourself out there)
Thanks! Plan to do that tomorrow! ![]()
If you are on a budget there are lots of good bikes on ebay and craigslist if you know your size. If you plan to stick with tri's you'll want to make sure you can get the best bike you can afford whether its new or used. I was on a budget when I bought my first bike and after a year of racing was ready to upgrade and I'm very glad I did.
