Today I did W8D2 attempt 3 and made it--actually running for 32 min+, whick was 2.25 miles!! I put off my run until evening--I was just too tired when I got home from work this morning. The 4-hour sleep days finally caught up with me. Slept all day and into the eveing, with only one wake-up call during the day. Man, did it feel good!! Got up and went out for a 2.5 mile run--the 28 min run part of it was the easiest yet, and my pace was abt 30 sec/mile faster than my usual training pace. I am planning a short run tomorrow--only an easy 1.5 miles. (Hmm--never would have thought 6 weeks ago that I would call a 1.5 mile run "easy"
), then my next 5K on Saturday. It should be a relatively flat course. The last time I did this particular race was 28 years ago... I am hoping to break 42 min on this one, but anything less than 45 will make me happy!!
When I finish the C25K program, I want to re-do weeks 7-9 for distance. I made the decision today that I will be soing a half-marathon in October. It will be the first running of the Empire State Marathon and Half-Marathon in Syracuse, NY. It's close to home, I know the roads, and it is a nice, flat course. There's something to participate in the first running, too. So...I will be looking to all you guys for your support when I get whiny, sore, and wonder if I can do it.
Looking to do a 10K in August. I can do this!!!!
