Im gonna try this!!Im not the best 3pt shooter but Im trying.....Im also trying so I can impress my dad since he's my dad(of course!)and because he's my basketball coach!I hope this works.It seems like it effected other players so hopefully it will help me!Definetly gonna try!
There's some good stuff here, but some glaring ommissions. First, if you haven't developed sufficient leg strength to elevate your own body weight to achieve the highest release point possible, you'll just be heaving the ball toward the basket and hoping for a positive result. Second, just because no one is guarding you at the perimeter doesn't mean your open. Third, body position is crucial to ALL shooting, more so with the long range bomb. Be ready to elevate immediately upong catching the ball by staying low and having the gun cocked, so to speak. Timing of the release is critical. The longer the windup before the shot is attempted gives the defense time to close out. Lastly, if you aren't willing (and able)to drive the ball to the rack, you'll be much easier to guard on the three-point line. A late close out is an invitation for a penetration drive.
