Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
I am thankful for ..

    [*] That I have a roof over my head (some people I go to school with aren't so lucky after Katrina);
    [*] That I have the absolutely best stinkin' family that is, was, and ever will be;
    [*] That I am in love with an amazing man who supports my every endeavor 1,000% (even if he thinks I'm nuts, which is most of the time);
    [*] That I have the two coolest cats on the planet, who keep my feet warm at night when the aforementioned man is out of town; and
    [*] That I have the strength and the perseverance to get up and run when all I really want to do is sink onto the couch and veg out ... since I know it will be MUCH better for me in the long run!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone ... don't submit to the Tryptophan Fairy this year!

Hello DanQ!

I'm grateful and thankful for health. I'm healthy and so is my family. All the $ in the world can't buy health and without health, we couldn't do much.

I'm also thankful for being able to say that life is very good overall. No complaints and I think that says it all.

(P.S. Nice pix (photo or picture). You go DanQ! Great running picture of you!)

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
As usual, I am late completing my assignments...
No really, my DOG ate it

OK, great topic and I should not be silly...

Thankful that I have been allowed to take up space on this big blue marble for the last 42 years...never thought I'd make it this long!
Thankful for those I love and those who love me and moreso those who don't. They make life much more interesting!
The list is long...and not to sound too much like the old hippie that I am...EVERY DAY is Thanksgiving, to me! Don't take any day for granted, because really, all we have is TODAY..

OK...y'all can stop gagging now...

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
I'm sorry, who are we thanking exactly? For example, I appreciate all that my wife does for me, and frequently tell her so, but I don't know what it would mean to say that I am thankful FOR her. It's not like someone gave her to me or anything. Geez. No wonder I always failed these type of assignments. . . .

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
I thank God for my wife, my kids, my widowed mom's good health, my in-laws, my job and my home.

I was 32 when my dad was diagnosed with asbestos cancer and 33 when he passed away, 8 1/2 years ago. WhiIe I miss him every day, I am also thankful to God for having the man in my life while he was alive. I find it a struggle to raise 4 kids, even with a great wife for a partner; I was the youngest of 7 children (back when that was fairly normal). I know that my father and mother did without a lot of things that were considered necessities back in the day, but we kids never did, or at least we weren't aware that we were doing without.

I'm also thankful that the arthritic ankle has survived another year of running.

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
I'm most thankful for my family and their (and my) health. Especially since my mom's been cancer free for 3 years now!!

That I'm healthy and can do the things I like, run, swim, ski, etc. and that my DH indulges my fitness obsession.

That we're 'comfortable' and can pay all the bills and have some money left over to play with (and use for race registration fees )

A job I really like and good people to work with.

A forum like this where people "get it" and listen to my drivel and answer all my silly questions.

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
I am thankful,
For my 5 year old daughter, who had a birthday yesterday... and we had a party (and we dont know a whole lot of people, here in Sturgis, but 10 showed up... and it was fun.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband, who deals with the fact that I run EVERY stinking day... but never tells me not to.
the man who has fixed my treadmill, also DH when it breaks...
I am thankful for my kickass job...(I do what I LOVE, and how priceless is that really? (I play Piano....at a restruant ... it may not sound that cool to some of you, but I love it, non the less) I see so many people who have to spend 8 to 10 hours doing something the do not enjoy... so I am kind to them....because I used to work at a place called Taco Johns. And people can be so rude to fast food workers, like they are NOT human...
I am thankful that I worked and worked and worked, lost 120 lbs...(even though I feel chubba today) that I am dedicated enough to get up everyday and run..
Because If I am walking through the mall, and I see sombody of my "old" size... it reminds me that Running, even though, sometimes I dont feel like it...but do anyway...
has really been worth it.
I am thankful for this thread... because it motivated me today.
(sorry this is so long)
)
have a great day everybody...
enjoy your run.... because if I can... anybody can. )

Re: Coolrunners, what are you thankful for?
This a pretty easy assignment

I am thankful first and foremost for my health, without good health nothing else is important.

My wonderful son, at 10 years old he is the greatest supporter of my running addiction.

My wife she is always there for me no matter what, Heres a big I love you.

My family, we may be separated by miles but not by feelings.

Happy and safe holidays to everyone.

John
