Everybody needs proper nutrition and a healthy diet. This requirement becomes more vital for people who are into health activities like running. This is amplified further for runners who are also into competitions or have special dietary needs.
It is far too easy to overeat as a result of exercise. If one runs just 2 or 3 miles they'll get thirsty and likely hungry. Taking in some Gatorade to replenish electrolytes and a sandwich to satisfy the extra hunger will amount to a lot more than the 200 or 300 calories the exercise burned.
