2012 Team OAK Stars 18U Tryouts with Coach Laura Harms

Team OAK Stars 18U are preparing for tryouts for the upcoming season.  We are a highly competitive college exposure team playing an ASA/A schedule.    Team Training over the winter consists of weight training and speed & agility twice a week with cage time at one of our indoor practice facilities, OAK Athletic Development (  Defensive practices with hitting are typically held Sundays at our other indoor practice facility in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

The 18U coach, Laura Harms, played at every level, including six years in the National Profastpitch League with the Chicago Bandits.  She brings 14 years as a player and 7 years coaching experience.  Due to her playing and coaching experiences, she has many contacts in the softball community and works with her team on recruiting a great deal.

We are looking for a pitcher, catcher as well as a couple position players.  The OAK Stars train and play with focus on the team, not the individual. There are many team building activities that that promote team chemistry, having fun, and being part of a winning tradition.  This season the Stars took first place in 3 of 4 the National Qualifying tournaments they entered, 9th out of 193 in their age division against teams from all over the country in the Sparkler/Fireworks Exposure tournament in Colorado, 9th in the Chicago Metro Tournament, played in the Chicago Bandits Stadium in the Rumble in Rosemont, and will be attending the ASA/USA A Nationals in Bloomington next week.   Any player interested in competing at the highest level with girls who are ALL IN and a coach who demands the little things it takes to be champions should consider coming to the Team OAK Stars tryout. Take another step toward your goal of competing at the next leel.
