Is there anyone out there who is a runner without a colon. I had my colon removed in 2005 (well before I started running) and this is the first summer I am focusing on distance training. I am a slow runner, and I find that in the heat/humidity at about 8 miles no matter how much I drink my body shuts down.
I would LOVE to talk to someone else who does not have their colon either. I do not have an ostomy, just a pull through. Since your colon is responsible for absorbing water ... I suspect this is why I get so massively dehydrated when I run ...
Anyone out there.... or know where I could be directed to find someone else in my situation?
