Re: Runner's World - RANT
If you like the Marathon and Beyond magazine you might also like a book I found called, 'First Marathons' ... it's a variety of stories about the exeriences of various runners during the training and racing of their first marathons; the good, the bad, and the ugly ... I picked it up while training for my first and found it a fun read to break up all the technical stuff I'd been scouring through while trying to train right ...

Re: Runner's World - RANT
hmmm maybe I will subscribe to that one too (M & beyond). Can't have enough magazines

I had never heard of Running Times, but they interviewed me for an article about 1.5 years ago and I was sent a few copies and really liked it. Unfrotunatly my 2 hour phone interview was shortened to a small paragraph

Re: Runner's World - RANT
ha, ha that's funny because I think their models look, well like models and not like they really run much. This is from one competitive runner's viewpoint.

I think this may be because the fastest women (elite) have such a low body fat level that they all have fairly small breasts--some just have nipples

I have run with a couple of girls in college who where fairly well-endowed. They are very good runners, but not at an elite level. When I say well-endowed for a runner I think I mean like a C cup. I don't even think I'm an A, so I'm guestimating

Re: Runner's World - RANT
i've been disappointed with RW a lot lately too. i have a gift subscription and each month when i get my magazine...i'm usually done with it in like 30 min. there's just no substance and the articles are very repetitive. i love it when they do stories about elite athletes but i get tired of all the newbie stuff.

Re: Runner's World - RANT
Anastria, you put really well I got RW for Xmas and blow through it in about 45 minutes and find it to be rather bland and superficial.

As for the cover "runners", it's annoying but RW addressed that several months ago saying that they need to compete with all of the other magazines out there and all of those have model women or men so they also have to. I don't buy that.

I may switch over to running times, too.
